What's new

Do you guys feel scared to sleep alone?

Sleeping in a hotel room alone is a scary thing. There is no doubt about that. I feel scared in a different way. When I was young, I watched a mystery movie named VACANCY. I still remember the horror in this movie. It comes to haunt me again and again.

Remembrance is a constant thing. It is not a chilla.

Remembrance by staying well with in the limits of human psychological and physical strength and what modest and practical way is there to remember other than The Prophetic Sunnah? Rest I agree with you -----.

Yes, indeed within one's limit.
It is all about the connection one tries to foster with Allah.
Purpose of Religion is to Know God not the sacred law.
Plz spend some time to deeply think about this statement.

Those who remember Allah standing, sitting and their sides, and Reflect In The Creation of Cosmos and Earths, and call out all this not created in Vanity.

1. There is no condition how someone can remember Allah. Whenever time available, whatever state.
2. This remembrance takes one to deep investigation of cosmos and earth, the inner working of fabric of space-time, General relativity, black holes etc.

But none of the cosmic discoveries by Muslims in the last 200 years .
There is a flaw in our Our concept of God and concept of science.

Religion devoid of any set of instructions is a part time hobby . Coz adherence to that set of instructions is meant to take us closer to The Almighty and not otherwise . Imam Hussain A.s could've set up his dargah to contemplate/faiz/knowing etc and still be the master of the youth of the Paradise- ------. But He chosen The Prophetic Sunnah of confronting evil right in its ugly face .

It is a subtle thing.
God is the purpose i.e. Target.
Sacred Law is not Target, i.e. it is required but not the target.
There is the difference.

I shall emphasize again plz go through this.
At this risk of lengthing talk..
ان الدين عندالله الإسلام

A very basic and apparently simple ayat, but what it says?

Way in the sight of God is Islam
Islam is a way. But to what?
To reach God. So way, or Highway is important but one must keep that it is to attain Allah.
You just can't sit in a rest area on lahore-islamabad motorway, you don't just get to enjoy highway and rest areas, you use it to GET TO YOUR DESTINATION.
What is at the End of the Highway of Islam, it is Allah.
That's all I am.saying.
Rest follow all the shariah but keep that you are walking towards Allah.

@waz

Evil dead old version today we might find funny to watch but my dad had watched this movie when he was young and he said he couldn't sleep alone for months.....

There's a whole field of sleep specialists precisely for this reason. What you're going through is quite common for people born post 1984. As a child you may have had sleep preturbances such as night terrors and recurrent nightmares etc., Now when you're going to sleep and your mind starts wandering that's a very specific brain nural pathway being activated which is geared towards making you survive and by feeding it with information such as social media or movies you're cranking it to high gear. If there isn't a threat then the brain will create one. What can help is to establish a sleep routine and focus on sleep hygiene: stop mobile use like an hour or two before sleeping, if you cannot then listen to some nature sounds such as gentle rain or even ambient city sounds (you'd need to experiment) secondly, I'd suggest establishing a routine of checking out the premises where you're to sleep in the morning and before kicking in. Show your brain there's nothing to worry about. Our brains are geared towards routine so changing places to sleep is something that effects them negatively but by addressing the main triggers you can have better sleep. Meditation and breathing exercises would help too, just simple breath counting should suffice, it takes 3 mins minimum to kick in though so stick to it

Thanks bro for such a valuable ideas.... will surely do it....

Sleeping in hotel room is definitely more scary than sleeping in your or relative home.... reason is place and it's history is unknown to us..... I can't even enjoy bath tub in my hotel room if alone..... always feel some ghost or negative energy will drown me to death.....

Hi guys if similar thread has been discussed earlier then sorry and mods can delete this thread.....

Actually I always wanted to know how other people feel if they have to sleep alone in some hotel room...... due to my job I sometimes have to travel and obviously have to stay in hotels.....

I don't know why but whenever I travel and return to my room at the end of the day toughest part of my travel journey begins.....

My mind unwantedly starts thinking about dead people, ghost stories..... I feel so scared that whole night I'm forced to keep my room lights on and keep TV running.... almost up to 4 am I keep watching action movies to feel better..... I don't even drink a water so I don't have to go to loo alone in the night...... in such cases I end up sleeping till late and it affects my next day schedule..... even at home if I have to stay alone I sleep but can't sleep without lights on..... don't know what to do..... if you guys have such problems please share.....
Nobody is ever alone. According to Islam, you have Angels and Jinns with you, whether someone believes in this does not change it.

It is possible that you have some sort of Phobia OR it is also possible that Jinn etc are disturbing you.

You should pray before sleeping with something like this.

God! I seek your protection and safety from evil.

Pray sincerely and hopefully you should feel better.

man....

a good bottle of mampoer -- .. no two teaspoons will put you to sleep.

have urself checked out for anxiety; fix root cause and everything else falls in place.

nothing is to be feared by god himself.

Hi Kedar if you believe in God then why you should not believe in Ghost??? think about it....
It's not like believing in one means you should believe in the other. At the end of the day, it's all psychological.
I will strongly recommend you to visit a psychologist, I'm sure you'll overcome this problem with that. I can understand your situation, in real life this might have been embarrassing and discomfiting for you, hence you should urgently visit one.

Recite Ayatul Kursi before you sleep.. there is no ghost or dead person stronger than Rabul Aalameen.

Kedar common.... are you suggesting me to visit psychiatrics.... believe me its just a fear which grows inside from your childhood....

In India there is a Govt. declared place / fort called BHANGARH as an officially haunted place...... there is Indian Govt. signboard asking people to stay away from the BHANGARH fort after sunset after 5 PM not to mention security is there to prevent people doing any misadventure with live photography in BHANGARH... some youtubers have tried this..... when Govt puts such signboard then there is a thorough studies, history checking with victims family by Govt and then only Govt declares such sites as not human friendly after certain time..... we should have full faith in God but at the same time we should be precautionary..... no harm in that....

I almost alway have better sleep when i sleep alone

The most I got scared was when I fell into a fresh grave.

I was walking towards my dera it was very early in the morning I think around 4 o clock in the morning. The atmosphere was filled with smog It was so bad I couldn't see anything. A light made the sight worse it was so smoggy.

As I was walking and a graveyard comes in the way I lost my sense and just kept walking. I thought I was on the straight path until I fell 6' under. Luckily I didn't break anything it just hurt at the time being.

When I fell I felt so scared I was stuck in a box. I tried running to my right, left, straight, all I ran I to was walls. I realized I was in a grave and that scared me even more. I tried climbing out but couldn't come out because there was dirt on all four sides each time I tried to climb out I would just slide back with the dirt.

I had my phone on me and I tried calling my cousins friends but no one answered until it was around 6 in the morning. Few of my cousins came and helped me climb out of the grave.
Whenever I think about it it still scares me. I was alone in a grave for an hour and half. I thought the Graves snake was gonna come and bite me and I hate snakes.

Other than that I don't really get scared.
