Saab Erieye. :agree:

What's the difference, the communist symbol?

you are arguing out of senses! We are talking about the claim of indian AEW&C with the Swedish made Erieye .
And where is our airforce seal-print on the AEW&C mounted on our plane?

Dude thats a freaking Saab 2000 Erieye... Dont lie..

Source?

DRDO didn't partner with the Swedish,

However, Cassidian(Germans) was contracted as a consultant for a short period of time for this project.

No, you are. Where are your sources??

Cassidian was contracted as a consultant in January this year. Senior DRDO officials said complex systems invariably get bogged down with integration issues and it was felt that protracted flight-testing and evaluation could likely ensue. It is here that Cassidian's extensive experience with NATO's own early warning programme is expected to come in handy.

The Cassidian team is expected to stay the course with CABS till the end of the programme. Cassidian is letting its DRDO counterparts help evolve optimized ways of testing systems. While some systems have to be tested in the air, some can be tested on the ground.

EADS division Cassidian joins hands with DRDO on Indian AEW&C project

This is the foreign help. And it was used late in the project.

Well to say you are also arguing out of sense.
Pictures clearly shows that DRDOS AEW&C is not Swedish made erieye it uses brazilian platform.
I think ur little hurt that DRDO suceeded in this project.
thats y trolling without any proof or link.

can't u even detect or see difference between each platform with your eyes

can't u even detect or see difference between each platform with your eyes

No we are yet to reach that level phalcon is still superior it got 360 degree coverage

360° detection is not a big deal, you just need a useful platform and add another radar array in a triangular form, but that doesn't tell us anything about how capable the radar is in terms of range, numbers of targets that can be detected and many other points that are in regard to the radar system.
Similarly, DRDO didn't even finished and proved the current DRDO AWACS, so letting them integrate the system in a different form on a whole new platform makes delays very likely again, especially with DRDOs track record.

I have some doubts on the credibility of the article, but even if they are right and MoD don't want to pay more for A50 Phalcons, then simply order more EMB DRDO AWACS instead of start a new development when we are already behind our opponents in this field!

Another bullshit article, when you stop citing sources in a write up it just ends up as a blog.

Aviastar Sends First Il-76MD-90A Plane for Tests
Russia's Aviastar aircraft plant has completed the first flying prototype of the Ilyushin Il-76MD-90A transport aircraft and sent it off for test-flights, the plant's general director, Sergei Dementyev, said on Thursday.
The plant has built two of the modernized aircraft, he said.
"The first one can only partly be called a plane - it is a testbed we sent to TsAGI (the central aerodynamics institute) in Moscow last year. Today, we completed the second. In addition we have also started building three production-standard aircraft. Assembly of the first of these three production planes will start in August," he said.
The factory plans to build 16 of the aircraft per year by 2016, for which the plant will take on an additional 5,000 staff he said.
The Russian Defense Ministry has a stated requirement in its rearmament plan for 90 of the modernized transport aircraft, he said, but no company contract has yet been signed. Aviastar foresees a total production run of around 190 aircraft, with likely civilian customers including Russian cargo airlines Volga-Dnepr and Polet, as well as possible exports to China, India and Israel.
The new aircraft is fitted with the PS-90A turbofan in place of the older D-30 engine, increasing the aircraft's speed, range, and cargo capacity, which is up from 52 to 60 tons. The modernized Il-76MD090A, also known as the Il-476, also has new cockpit avionics allowing a smaller flight crew.
"It's a completely new plane," said Chief Designer Sergei Urasov, "which completely differs from its predecessor in terms of systems."
The Soviet Union produced hundreds of early model Il-76s at its Tashkent factory in Uzbekistan in the 1970s and 1980s. The Il-76 is capable of landing on rough strips and carrying large cargos, and remains popular with outsize cargo airlines and many air forces across the world.
Russia is to resume production of the Ilyushin Il-76 heavy transport aircraft. Serial manufacture of the heavy transport aircrafts is due to be launched in 2014.

Ilyushin Il-76 isn't going anywhere!

oho, DRDO involvement ........ it will be a venture spread over next couple of centuries, and may remain a technology demonstrator - a euphemism popularly used by Bharat for failed projects.

Feel Humbled that you believe DRDO will last over next couple of centuries

I agree with you. It is not only DRDO, India as a nation state is likely to crumble as its government has almost lost its writ in almost 50% of India.

I agree with you. It is not only DRDO,

Then you are contradicting what you said earlier:

OK! Read through all six pages of this thread and the moral of the story is........

"If a jet has a balance beam like thingy stuck at the top"---------------" IT's THE SAAB 2000 ERIEYE!!!":hitwall:

Seriously, Mr. Shuttler, when are you going to pass primary school?

@ Topic,

Sancho bhai has put up a valid point. Integration is where the can of worms is really opened. Let them integrate and then we shall see.

Though I'm confidant about the ESM and ECM with the data link. It's the L STAR I'm worried about.

Meanwhile, ground tests of it @ lrde were reported to be progressing well.
