Facing the Challenge of China, Should India Embrace the U.S.?:TIME Magazine

and the US, is deseprately prevent that BRICS from any substantial run of international politics.

BRICS is an economic alliance at best. SCO might be a good alternative, but India and Pakistan both will never get behind the group until and unless we sort out our issues, ourseleves, without any external meddling.

Think about it, Russia is already pro India and with India-China trade growing, China will start backing India too. That would make Pakistan insecure on issues like Kashmir and it will swing back to the American camp.

Unfortunately the sorta geo political games that has been played in the past India and China will never be in the same camp.

So either India becomes hostile to China or it remains neutral. No point being neutral when China is eyeing Indian territory and has been undermining Indian security. So either China gives up its claims on Indian territory and India will remain a neutral party with massive bilateral trade with China. or If China doesn't give up its claims of Indian territory, now is the time to join the alliance of USA, Pacific countries and other S.E. Asian countries and fight the hegemonic China. All these countries including India are smaller compared to China, joining an alliance and facing the threat together is a better option, rather than fighting with China individually and loosing.

China has many friends but only 1 true ally.

China doesn't have any friends in the region where it desperately needs them. Arab nations are not friendly, S.E Asian countries are hostile, Indian ocean you have another non friendly India. Japan, South Korea and Taiwan right next to you. Australia in the pacific.

that's called prisoner's dilemma. the crux of the answer is the breakthrough of India-China relation. the status quo prevail otherwise. that is to say, the whole subcontinent remains the same, and present time may be the best of time of modern India, nothing more than that. Well China still goes on. You only keep your neighborhood in South Asia together with your miseribles. well, not exactly, SL has taken off as their rebels gone forever, as an Indian ocean hub, they will thrive as long as you let you hand off them.

We are not going to cooperate with China by loosing our territory, ceding territory to China is not an option.

India will progress like it has been in the past, friendly China or not. Expect a Pakistani to downplay India's achievements.

In Southeast Asia we have Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia, which have very few conflicts with us in the South China Sea but strong conflict with Vietnam, Philippines and other claimants.

In East Asia we have Russia as a solid friend. South Korea/Japan are constrained by North Korea, our far superior air force and our strategic arsenal. With hard power, they'll fold anyways. Did China turn friendlier to Japan recently? No! We detained 4 Japanese spies, sanctioned them on rare earths and executed Japanese drug dealers. They just agreed to trade with China in RMB. They're very smart and can smell which way the wind blows.

well, you have to cede your occupied land, which is otherwise part of China or Pakistan if your aggressive leader wasn't that offensive, to China and Pakistan.

Stay as a second category nation with huge poverty population, or stay with a promising future, it's your choice.

Russia, A solid friend? Hum then why aren't they selling the engines! Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia will NOT join any war with China's favor! At the most they will send some equipment... I don't think China is in their mercy for any equipments!

Concentrate on Economy and boost trade to 100Billion US $ with China within 2015. Milk as much as from US and west and remain neutral! It is OK be believe that some one will help... but we should not remain without doing anything.

Russia, China along with the former Soviet bloc opened the SCO. So yes, their relations are solid.

You'd be surprised how much ASEAN states trade with China. Those states do not intend to militarily go against China or anything for the most part.

They don't even spend that much on military compared to other parts of the world.

I am not downplaying your achievement, you just did the progress, which nobody can be in denial, just like us a few years ago, 7-9 percent economic expansion.

but the harsh fact is the majority of India, excluding Banglore, Mumbai, Delhi, are even below the major sub-Sahara level of life quality, food, healthcare, infant mortality, etc.

what's your achievement? at a 7 percent growth, your GDP per head growth is merely 4 percent, for living standard below 1 dollar, that 4 percent increase is really insignificant, 4 cent more a year, do you even include the inflation? what did I downplay?

Dude why are you using same old line of "sub-Sahara level of life quality, food, healthcare, infant mortality, etc. ".
How many satellite and emerging metropolitan cities have you researched about.....read CIA report, World Bank report. You all say $1.5 per day is too low to sustain, then you should first come to india and see, you will find its more than enough to live easily yet not too much....

Research more about india before throwing dirt. And also remember that those who live in house of glass don't throw stones on others.

P.S.- Don't ask indians about our achievements, they will flood your inbox.

We don't expect military help from Thailand, malaysia or indonesia.

Russia holds military exercises with China very frequently.

trust me, I've been India and many African countries as well. I have better position arguing with you if you have yet been exposed to African continent. I am not talking about send "your shining stars" to space, that's not what I am talking, even so, many African nation sent their satellites too, if you insist on comparing with Africa in that category.

It should be more correct ::Facing the Challenge of China, Should USA Embrace India?

It is USA who needs India in the southeast Asia not other way round.:taz:

Its not occupied land:lol: China's claim on Tibet is flimsy at best let alone Arunachal Pradesh. The day Tibet becomes an independent country we will cede Arunachal to Tibet.

We are improving at a much better pace than you lots. So save us your lecture on poverty and blah blah.
