FIRST EVER VIDEO/PHOTOS : K-15 SLBM Test Fired !!!!

Now we know the secret of those random so called Prithvi missile user trial that used to happen from time to time.
may be you are right. but note that Prithvi is also used in missile defence tests as target missile. also K-series was already tested before and was announced , only missing was Pics/video!

its ballistic missile .. for fixed targets. Note the main purpose is second strike capability.
yes right but I was thinking if there were any projects of launching cruise missiles from a SSBN since they mastered the CEP to bring it withing single digits for 1500km

Some discrepancy with the claims made on the distance of the missile. According to a report in The Hindu, it only has a maximum range of 700 Kms.
In its twelfth flight trial, the 10-metre tall Submarine-Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) lifted off from a pontoon, rose to an altitude of 20 km and reached a distance of about 700 km as it splashed down in the waters of the Bay of Bengal near the pre-designated target point.

According to scientific advisor to the Defence Minister V.K. Saraswat, the missile was tested for its full range of 700 km
and the mission met all its objectives. He said the impact accuracy of the medium range strategic missile was in single digit.

not quite there yet,

its a Malnourished Missile warhead with almost 0 reliability, statistically speaking, shot from a floating static Barrel... say BLMM?

Can't comment on anything else but it certainly doesn't have the 1500 KM range as claimed by some....it's merely 700 Km.

ohhhh so china developed its SLBM from a flying barrel? man just FO.

It is not basically the range which this technology has to do most. It is about the miniaturizing the size with maintaining the range and balance of launching platform and the missile during launch in high waves too. range can be increased once the balancing is learned perfectly.

Cant be too sure about CEP of Indian Single warhead SLBM such as K-15 as they follow Depressed Trajectory which happens to be the most difficult to master even for Russians and Americans.

Cruise missiles will have a better CEP

We already kniw that pak missiles are inaccurate. Some villagers found ufo parts few ufo parts where it was not supposed to be found.

well if you would like to believe than just rant.. this 700KM figure came since the missile covered 700KM only in this test.. In earlier tests it had covered 1500KMs .. so choice is yours..

Rant, is the word indeed, when a missile has max range of 700 KMs, how can it be tested for 1500 kms.
In any case, the 1500 claim was made on the test carried out yesterday.

Range depends on what type of Trajectory they select...and the warhead..
with warhead size increasing the range decreases...
Same is for trajectory...
If its a re-entry trajectory then range will be greater..If its a Depressed trajectory where the missile flies all the way inside the atmosphere..Consumes more fuel and trajectory Decreases...

(When will Indian members learn to give a proper answer instead of throwing rants..)

Every one here is not professional but as you seen even lot of elite here always post rant so its obvious for other to follow :cheesy:

cruise missiles indeed have better CEP. But What I am referring to was a quasi BM. Shaurya is a Quasi BM and has a CEP of 20-30m but the K-15 will have a steeper trajectory than Shaurya plus Russia Iskander has a CEP of 3-4m for some 700km range which is also a Quasi BM.
