Kevin Pietersen will be at September's World Twenty20 - not as a player but as part of ESPN STAR Sports' team of television presenters. T20 World Cup 2012 Points Table. The news comes soon after it was confirmed that Pietersen would not play the World T20 for England following his spat with the ECB and his team-mates - whose performance he could now be commenting on from the outside.

Mohammad Hafeez urges Pakistan to lift their game

Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez on Tuesday urged his team to improve while chasing runs, saying it is a concern ahead of next week's World Twenty20, despite winning against Australia.

Pakistan clinched the three-match Twenty20 series 2-1 but were humiliated by 94 runs in the third and final match here on Monday, shot out for their lowest Twenty20 score of 74.

Pakistan's previous lowest total was 89 against England at Cardiff in 2010.

Hafeez said Pakistan panicked while chasing a target of 169.

"There is a concern in chasing a target but I am confident that we will improve and do well in the World Twenty20," said Hafeez of the 12-team competition which begins in Sri Lanka from September 18.

Hafeez warned that Pakistan still needs to find an extra gear when needed.

"We must lift our energy levels while we chase," said Hafeez. "Despite losing the third game I can confidently say that there is a happy feeling within the camp and we are gearing up for the mega event."

Pakistan is placed in Group D of the World Twenty20 along with New Zealand and Bangladesh.

"Our momentum is good and we want to carry over that winning momentum," said Hafeez. "Twenty20 cricket is all about doing right things at the right time and I am sure the boys will do that."

Hafeez backed the returning opener Imran Nazir who managed scores of 22, nought and one in the three matches against Australia.

"Nazir is a Twenty20 specialist and I am confident of his talent. He will surely be disappointed with his efforts so far but hopefully he will do well in the World Twenty20," said Hafeez.

Hafeez's counterpart, George Bailey said he was satisfied with his team.

"We have worked really hard, so to get the reward of a victory and see that the things we are working on are actually coming to fruition, I think that's really important for us," said Bailey.

Australia, losing finalists in the last World Twenty20 in 2010 held in the West Indies, slid to tenth in Twenty20 rankings after the series defeat.

"I think Pakistan are an unbelievable side, and at their best they can play some great cricket and at our best we can play some great cricket."

Both teams flew to Sri Lanka early Tuesday.

Warm up match B/w Sri Lanka and West Indies on 13th Sep

The host Sri Lanka thrashed ICC T20 World Cup 2012 favourite West Indies by nine wickets in the first warm-up match here at Nondescripts Cricket Club Ground, Colombo on Thursday.

Chasing a moderate target of 133 runs, Sri Lanka reached the home quite comfortably in the 15.4 overs.

For Sri Lanka, skipper Mahela Jayawardene and Opener Tilakratne Dilshan made unbeaten 57 and 50 runs respectively.

Put into the bat, West indies went off to poor start as Nuawn Kulasekera provided quick jolts to visitors.

Amidst regular wicket fall, Charles (30), Darren Bravo (29) and Pollard helped West Indies to post 132/6 on board in their allotted quota of 20 overs.

Zimbabwe vs Ireland

In another warm-up game, Ireland outclassed Zimbabwe by 54 runs.

Zimbabwe won the toss and asked Ireland to bat first. Neil O’Brien scored quickfire 62 to help Ireland post massive 181 runs on board.

In reply to Ireland’s 181 runs, Zimbabwe just managed to score 127/8 in the 20 overs. Maskadaza (44) was the top scorer for his side.

Dockrell and Cusack took three wickets each while Jhonston and Rankin claimed one wicket each for Ireland.

India face Pakistan in World T20 tune-up
COLOMBO: Arch-rivals India and Pakistan will get an early chance to size up each other ahead of the World Twenty20 when they clash in a high-profile practice match in Colombo next Monday. The match, part of the warm-up schedule drawn up by the International Cricket Council, is the only one of 12 practice games that will be beamed live by the host broadcasters. Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez welcomed the chance to play against India before the tournament starts on Tuesday.

“It is usually a high-pressure game and good for us to experience it early,” Hafeez told reporters in Colombo on Wednesday night. India coach Duncan Fletcher said his team’s two warm-up matches – the other is against host Sri Lanka on Saturday – will be important preparations for the main event. “We have come here with the belief that we can win the World Twenty20 and it is crucial we get attuned to the conditions,” Fletcher said. “We have obviously got a good build-up. “We look forward to the two warm-up games which will give us the preparation we require for the tournament.”

India and Pakistan have been drawn in separate groups for the preliminary league, but will meet in the Super Eights round in Colombo on September 30 if the seedings go to plan. The two nations have played just two official Twenty20 internationals against each other, both during the inaugural world event in South Africa in 2007. The league match in Durban ended in a tie with India winning the bowl-out, before the two sides met again in the final in Johannesburg, which Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s Indians won by five runs. Bilateral cricket ties between the two nations, which had been suspended since the Mumbai attacks in 2008, are set to resume later this year when Pakistan tour India for three one-dayers and two Twenty20 games.

India wins its first warm up match against SriLanka

India 146/5 in 20 overs

Sri lanka 120 all out in 19.3 overs..
Irfan Pathan 5 wickets!!

This T-shirt was rejected and team will go with their odi t-shirts only. As the t-shirt has flag on left soulder and instead of ashok chakra it has bcci logo. Pakistani t-shirt is very much similar to this one..

The new jersey is NOT rejected. Instead some superstitious people in team & BCCI have decided to use the existing jersey as its same with the one which were used for 2011 WC. The new jersey will be adopted as soon as T20 WC get over
