ndia, responding to Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani’s statement on Hafiz Saeed, said that ‘solid evidence’ on the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) founder and alleged 26/11 mastermind has already been given to Pakistan, CNN-IBN reported on Monday.

Sources in the Indian government said that the evidence includes the statement of Ajmal Kasab – the lone surviving gunman in the Mumbai attacks – saying that “Saeed was present during the selection and training of terrorists behind the 26/11 attack.”

They also pointed out that the statements of David Coleman Headley, another person involved in the 2008 Mumbai attacks, on Saeed have also been sent to Pakistan.
The sources stressed on Pakistan to work on the provided evidence.
Gilani, talking to the media on Sunday, had said that Pakistan and India will share intelligence and evidence against Saeed on April 16.

“We are in the middle of talks with India and on April 16 both countries’ interior secretaries will share their evidence against Saeed. And on the basis of these evidences, which would be sufficient for the courts, further action against Saeed will be taken,” Gilani said.

Why are we even bothering with the scum, waste-of-space life form ?

He, his ilk and their ideology are doing a far more potent damage to Pakistan than India can ever do.

If Pakistanis themselves are not bothered about that, its high time we leave this.

No amount of evidence is enough. The Pakistanis don't value the lives of their own victims of terrorism, it is futile to expect any sympathy for the victims of terror in India.

When you just don't wanna do it, you can cook up hundreds of excuses for not doing so.

Excellent that sort of a testimony would ENSURE he rots in jail. But. How do we know Ajmal Kasab really said that?

Don't go on a Hindu false flagger's testimony Asim. Anyways we all know what the Pakistani refrain is and will be with regard to testimony.

You are a mature nation, a democracy of 200 million, a nuclear power, and have an independent judiciary.

What is stopping you from carrying out your own investigation? Digging up your own evidence?

Three years have passed.

You say there is no evidence against the scum.

Well, bash on regardless and produce the scum who did it then.

What's stopping you?

LOL what on Earth is a Hindu false flagger testimony. In all my experience of reading of John Grisham novels, I've never heard the term.

There is evidence - some and circumstantial. Hate speeches, previous leadership of LeT and some members being caught in other terrorism related activities.

None of them point to the fact that he ordered the killing of anybody. Nobody has testified that he ordered to kill anyone. Nobody, not even Kasab.

The most we have him for is hate speech, which is a slap on the wrist offence in Pakistan. Assume for a moment I am not pretending to be concerned about his case and really want to send him to jail - tell me how do I go about doing it from all the evidence present?

all of Kasab's interrogations are video recorded

Recorded by whom? The victims - India. What if there is a gun pointed to his head to confess. In law terms India has a bias and is not considered a competent authority to record his confession.

How do we know Kasab and his 9 other murderers were Pakistanis in the first place?

I think Pakistani government has confirmed that at least Kasab was Pakistani.

Nothing will come out of it, only an Abottabad kind of justice or a drone strike will put this person in hell.

Honestly if Kasab was handed over to Pakistan for trial, and everything was as India says it is, it would have meant Hafiz Saeed to have been in jail way back when his popularity was at an all time low after the Mumbai attacks.

There isn't enough trust to do that.. Pakistani establishment had been in denial for months before accepting Kasab was a Pakistani. If given direct access to him, all Pakistanis would do is to find some hole in the case to get out of the situation and defend the terrorists. Pakistan being the accused cannot be given a free hand to meddle with the evidence. That's why India has approached the UN and thats how Hafeez Saeed has been declared a terrorist by UN.
