India is very angry! China Indonesia's high-speed rail completed so fast, why Japan delay?#railway

Can you name 1 Japanese construction company doing construction for Ahd Mumbai line?

And this is not the first time whole Delhi metro is constructed by the Indian contractors not Japanese.

Sometimes people comment just for sake of commenting and think they know about india more than Indians themselves.
Yup we know what happened with the high quality steel used in the collapsed bridge. Lol

@bluesky @Indos @Beast @Bilal9

Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL) has become the first and only Indian manufacturer to successfully develop Heat Treated (HT) Rails suitable for high speed and high axle load applications

Indian steel manufactures is providing high quality steel for the fabrication of super structures for these steel bridges 👏

@Cheepek @Hellfire2006 @VkdIndian @Raj-Hindustani
Chinese Made Steel Is Unsafe. In addition to costing you more money than you could have ever expected, cheap steel is very unsafe to use. Companies in China are producing steel at a faster rate, flooding the market with substandard products. It is produced at a rapid rate and it is not held up to the same quality standards as Japanese steel

Bro, just finish the project first before bragging

A design engineer, when making design analysis (mathematical calculations/ analysis) by calculator and/ or computer programming may also conduct a faulty analysis and his drawings will show some steel members are short of adequate dimensions and lacking strength.

The bridge may collapse then, though the quality of structural steel is as per ASTM A572. On the other hand, a bridge may collapse if adequately strong foundations are not designed.

A govt inquiry body must determine the cause, if the steel is faulty or if the design analysis is faulty. Also, steel and the design analysis both may be faulty.

A bridge may also collapse if the foundations are designed weakly and unable ta take horizontal or vertical loads.

So, we cannot be sure if the quality of steel is low.

You do know that was the pedestrian bridge and 145 years old? No one in south Asia do so much analysis for a pedestrian bridge.

IRCON and L&T are civil construction companies who will build viaducts per Japanese specs as mandated by your NHSRCL. They are civil contractors.

No High Speed bullet train exists in India currently so no Indian company has any experience in building such infra or trackage to spec. When the Japanese implement ToT - then IRCON and L&T will be partners in it for the first time. Period. Building Metros and Bullet trains are two different technologies altogether.

Gatiman Express and Bande Bharat Express are not Bullet trains. They are normal electric or diesel-electric motor propulsion locos with German 1980's coach technology added.

Bullet trains are a different beast than what exist in India currently. Bullet trains are run usually at 350 KMPH or so, Indian speeds could vary somewhat, may be same, maybe a bit lower. All working parts for bullet trains are different to cater to these high speeds. meaning pantographs, wheel design, suspension, bogie articulation etc. This also includes ballastless trackage on viaducts and super elevation of the way track will be laid etc. which will extend to routine (daily) maintenance. Shinkansen trackage is checked/maintained several times each day. This is the reason accidents are minimal. What happens in India WRT maintenance remains to be seen.

I don't get why it is so difficult for Indians to admit that their country is not as developed in rail infra as China or Japan are. These are facts - as plain to see as the nose on one's face. It's okay to admit that Rome will not be built in a day.

This is what happens when bhakts start discussing technology. Way out of their league.

Nope.
Papa Xi has a bot army that has all the time in the world to do just that.

Sing praises for their Emperor and pull down others.

Endless Bragging is typical Indian bhakt mentality. Usually accompanied by chai (and hookah if available).

In one sitting they can make their country an imaginary superpower. :-)

While sitting in a slum.

The same like you with Japanese, there will be major Japanese constructor as well there, they are not fool and giving charity to India with this projecy.

The main constructor is Indonesian SOE consortium that has more than 50 % stake on the project. The Chinese has meaningful stake as well and they are like Japanese does to you will be the supervisor of the project since they have already been experience on building this. Use your logic please

China SOE is investing, they will be part of the operator and gets money from the operation. We dont need to pay back the money they invest, so this investment is risky to China, not really a benefit to them except with many of the trains and railway they bring from China.

Indonesian SOE uses China soft loan as well to finance the project, they need to pay of course gradually.

The reason of China wins over Japan is because this scheme.

Neither the Japanese, nor the Indians are fools; there's someone else who loves being a fool.

More importantly - why was a 145 year old bridge not inspected and demolished 45 years ago?

A similar British Raj era bridge (Armanitola Cable-stayed Suspension Bridge) was demolished in old Dhaka some hundred years ago.

Who gave the fitness certificate to have people (revellers) board this rickety bridge?

You don't feel that there were kanjoosi and lapses of judgment involved? Are Indian lives so cheap?

This is why giving a country the status of 'superpower' is questionable....when a rickety 145 year old bridge is not considered a public safety hazard.

Where I said that,,, but how this is related to this?

And again, Please show us the Japanese company involved in construction, don't runaway from that.

Infra Safety is not related to high speed train travel?

Public transport is also related to attitudes on safety, as are bridges.

Lax attitudes on safety pervades everything in India, as does lax delays, chalta hai attitude etc.

I answered a post without knowledge of the facts. However, if the pedestrian bridge is 145 years old, it was designed by British engineers and perhaps was constructed by a local contractor.

I think the bridge collapsed because of old age. I believe this bridge had riveted connections between the members, vertical/ inclined/ horizontal. Usually, rivets get rusted earlier than the main structural members/ chords.

It is a necessity to replace the rivets with nuts and bolts with sufficient diameter for the old bridge giving it a few more years of life. The best is to replace such a bridge with a newly designed and newly built one.

I am waiting for your good answer as you know Indian better than me, it is just ridiculous saying there will be no Japanese involvement in the HSR project since Indian doesnt have the experience building it yet nor they have their own capital to complete the project without Japanese financial help

Does this @Farhan Bohra try to fool us here with Indian so called HSR project that is actually medium speed with the one trully HSR project that will use Japanese loan ?
