India’s stand against Sri Lanka was due to Sonia Gandhi’s continuining sympathy with LTTE cause

By K.T.Rajasingham
New Delhi, 27 March, (Asiantribune.com):

Dr. Subramanian Swamy when responding to question raised by Asian Tribune said, "The UPA government is driven by Ms. Sonia Gandhi. According to me she is a suspect in Rajiv's assassination and because of her past association with the Habash group of Palestinians, who had trained the LTTE first; she has continuining sympathy with the LTTE cause. Hence the explanation for India's stand."

The Janata Party Leader Dr. Subramanian Swamy replied that the American resolution against Sri Lanka adopted at the nineteenth session of the UN Human Rights Council a, "It is a toothless insipid and one sided resolution fit for the wastepaper basket."

Given below the excerpts of the Interview Asian Tribune had with Janata Party Leader Dr. Subramanian Swamy:

Asian Tribune: We would like to have your comment regarding the resolution finally adopted by America against Sri Lanka on 22 March at the 19th session of the UN HCR Conference in Geneva.

Dr. Subramanian Swamy: It is a toothless insipid and one sided resolution fit for the wastepaper basket.

Asian Tribune: Kindly tell us whether India has adopted a correct stand in voting with America?

Dr. Subramanian Swamy: Obviously not since the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh wrote a letter to Sri Lanka President in an apologetic tone.

Asian Tribune: Tell us whether it is the right moment for the Indian MPs to visit Sri Lanka under the leadership of the opposition leader Susma Swaraj?

Dr. Subramanian Swamy: That is for those who invited them to decide. Sushma Swaraj will however not be swayed by pro-LTTE SL Tamil propaganda.

Asian Tribune: There is a growing opposition to India in the midst of the Sri Lankans in the country and do you agree that India should come forward to do something to overcome the growing anti-Indian sentiments in Sri Lanka.

Dr. Subramanian Swamy: To India or the present Indian government? Anti-Indian sentiments in Sri Lanka will only harden Indians and not soften them.

Asian Tribune: It is said that the terrorism in Sri Lanka was initiated by Indira Gandhi who in the beginning invited the Sri Lankan Tamil youths to India, gave them military training, financed them and armed them to fight the Sri Lanka Government and was responsible for the ethnic conflict in the country?

Dr. Subramanian Swamy: That was done in the context of Sinhala majority welching on agreements signed with Tamil leaders like Chelvanayagam and the horrible massacres of Tamils in July 1983. We in India have not forgotten the racists remarks of President Jayawardene to the London Economist made then.

Asian Tribune: How can India take a stand along with countries who tries to whitewash to LTTE and India voting with those countries who tries to safeguard the killers of Rajiv Gandhi?

Dr. Subramanian Swamy: The UPA government is driven by Ms. Sonia Gandhi. According to me she is a suspect in Rajiv's assassination and because of her past association with the Habash group of Palestinians, who had trained the LTTE first, she has continuining sympathy with the LTTE cause. Hence the explanation for India's stand.

Stopped reading the BS after this! A woman widowed by the terrorist group harbors sympathies for them! Yup. Makes sense!

Swami has gone mad. One would expect an educated person like him to talk sense.
Now he is a hindutva posterboy. What a disgrace.

He is a leader of a political party and a parliamentarian so surely we should take his comments seriously.

Yes you should. Only thing you should keep in back of your mind is, he is a political opponent, and will naturally want to show govt in poor light. He does not have to be right, just because of allegation.

Of course if you already believe what he said, then his words are music to your ears, and you are welcome to believe him.

I would have said the same if sonia gandhi had made a political allegation against bjp.

That is democracy lesson for you, for today. :)

Swami looses it when it comes to Eelam issue.

So we can safely ignore his comments on this issue.

What so ever, it is good if India keep away from SL matters!

Unfortunately SL lies in our backyard and whatever happens in your country has a ripple effect on ours due to the "bond" we share. So no, that's not possible.

This is why some people hate India ;) Sri Lanka has no direct link with India, I just wonder about other countries who share borders with India.

India should keep out of the affairs of neighbouring countries. It has caused enough harm in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Maldives, Pakistan and Bhutan. It should have learnt by now not to interfere.
