do you have any latest JFT picture with full load . . . . . ????

1st of All LM ,Boeing,Mig, Su ,Rafale, Ef and Saab got own fan followers, their customers are of different league ,those who want some cheap ,yet quiet capable and good serviciblity will go for 2nd hand Mig 29SMT, Gripen,F16 block 40, new FA-50 Or even Mirage m2k with 15yrs of shelf life. I don't see any potenitial for Poor JF17 here, it's developed by chinese , for Pakistani only who need an aircraft which can fill up the numbers at low cost as rightly said by the writer The JF-17 is an obsolete and cheap aircraft, ideal
for the Pakistan market, which
values numbers over actual combat
effectiveness.

right hope you sleep well tonite!

It may be insult..but also..reality...

Out-rightly rejecting the JF17 is an overstatement, any comment on the quality mist be made keeping all the factors in mind. The platform is evolving well and only the basic version is in the service of PAF let the block-2 up-gradation emerge then only we will be able to compare with other platforms as all other platforms have already passed at-least 2 stages of their up-gradation.

It doesn't Really matters, what i see is They are replacing Obsolete F7's and some others Fighters with ''BVR'' capable Jf17's. PAF follows a Defensive Doctrine , with AWACS support Jf17 Negate Su30Mki Radar Advantage To Some Extend.

Jf17 is Not Cheap but Cost effective Solution for PAF.

In addition to what you said above, it provides a great advantage of self sustainability to PAF too.

I hope you know the difference between a rock band's music sales and military/weapon sale. Having enough money in pocket in one moment never ensure a big purchase, long term operating costs play more vital role in any such deal. The aircraft you have listed are no-way "Cheap", all of these have very high operating costs as compare to JF-17.

That is what you think, what military analyst think is other way round.

You think that "numbers" is the top priority for PAF, guess what it never was in the past and it will never be in future. If there had been any such case China would be producing JF-17s for us as well.

You, just like the author hasn't produced anything that puts JF-17's design in obsolete aircraft category. I wonder, what exactly is obsolete? Weapons it carry, avionics, EW suite...please enlighten us?

All the basic information regarding Thunder is present in few opening posts of this thread...

No Mate,PAF doesn't follows Defensive Doctrine, well that's what history books are up for to remind you again and again. Defensive Posture just came a decade back when they realized that their is no comparison in Offensive capability.
Who are you? That is really a big revelation you made here:D
So that means PAF is going on the back foot since 2002? Our weapons purchase say otherwise.

Mate, you need to read and learn a lot before coming on this part of PDF. Have a nice day!

Not on backfoot, but buying to deter India's shopping spree of weapons. Look at A/C to be inducted in next decade. Pakistan AF is acquiring A/C proportional to IAFs current and future strength. JF-17 BLKI and BLKII in higher numbers is more than sufficient for next 5 to 7 years.

Its a simple and logical explanation for layman, but you can interpolate from this as you are a think tank.
