Both countries, China-pakistan partnership is 42-58% respectively.

Okay Sir, if you are correct then we will see steady progress. I look forward to it.

(Of course, if I remember basic arithmetic correctly, 42% and 58% of zero is zero.)

February 14, the third opening of the Singapore Airshow. In this year's Singapore Airshow, China Aviation Technology Import and Export Corporation exhibited portability Xiaolong, L-15, unmanned aerial vehicles and other military aircraft model pterosaur exhibitors. Although this is not a real machine Xiaolong fighters to Singapore Airshow scene, but still causes Xiaolong States aviation, especially the Third World countries' attention.

Significantly improved short term will not appear Xiaolong fighter

Since Xiaolong fighter air show debut in Dubai last year, when it launched Xiaolong fighter variant has been the focus of everyone's attention. But the time to participate in the air show CATIC staff expressed, Xiaolong fighter will not have a substantial short-term improved appearance. However, the staff also said Xiaolong fighters have been in the transformation, the transformation project is mainly electronic system details. Staff said that since Xiaolong fighter since its debut, the details of improvements have been carried out up to hundreds. Xiaolong fighter located in third world countries with high price to win, not like the West as the pursuit of the most advanced fighter concepts and the most advanced technology. Because the majority of users affected by the economic conditions of potential buyers and maintain the level of constraints, it is difficult conservation that "the pursuit of fashionable" advanced fighters.

Russian-made fighter Xiaolong fighter will not affect sales

When CATIC booth mention Russian fighter Xiaolong fighter will affect the overseas market, the exhibition's staff said the Xiaolong fighter's goal is alternative third world countries active MiG-21, Mirage -3, etc. The second generation of single-engine light aircraft. At present the Russian military exports are mostly of double heavy Sukhoi fighter Xiaolong fighter with the positioning is completely different. In addition, Xiaolong fighter when exported, with the transfer of technology Xiaolong fighter is now one of the major selling point.

Xiaolong fighter is quite advanced electronic equipment

Currently, the world average for the active third-generation fighter for electronic upgrades. In this year's Singapore Airshow Boeing, Raytheon and other companies have made third-generation fighter electronic equipment upgrade program. In this regard, staff on the front reported Xiaolong fighter future electronic equipment upgrades question asked CATIC staff. He said Xiaolong fighter is quite advanced electronic devices, currently equipped with the PLA fighters compared to the absolute is among the most advanced one. For the Third World in the low-end customers, can be described as "functional to just think of them, but they made no can not meet." Face facelift States Air Force active phased array radar trends show side said that the Third World countries may need the short term, but once the proposed requirements to currently existing body you can dress up and do not require a large improvement. In addition, the future use of domestic Ray Stone -6 positioning systems and other precision guided weapons can also be mounted on Xiaolong fighter. (Liu Xuan)

So those countries that wish for a major Chinese Purchase or total Chinese electronics.. go for the FC-1.. while those that want the more westernized specification go for the JF-17. Now while PAC has design input on the JF-17, due to the project being financed by China essentially .. it forgoes sales profit if the aircraft is to be manufactured at Chengdu which will be the FC-1. The JF-17 specification is only manufactured at Kamra.. hence the profits for the JF-17 will go majorly to the PAF. At the present, the PAC assembly line is overloaded with orders for the JF-17 from the PAF at its current capacity.. hence, they cannot accommodate exports. So, any orders for the aircraft will most likely end up in China. Moreover, China also seems a more stable supplier to most interested parties.. hence the FC-1 is more likely to be ordered and Profits to remain for the aircraft in China.

Very interesting thx! So China actually could offer the FC-1 with similar coatings and material upgrades as the J10B has, to export customers that require a lower RCS, while the technical difference to JF 17 is mainly MAR 1 and some Pakistani weapons and avionics. Which shouldn't make it much more interesting though.
The point about production capability is a good point too, but what about politicial influence? It was often stated that JF 17 could attract customers of countries with higher Muslim populations. Could that be a deciding factor? Does Pak Government show any interest in the sale of defence techs?

Cute but the point needed making I think - It may not be surprising to you but many Pakistanis will not think the proposition ridiculous

The same coatings could also be applied to the JF-17 as the customer wishes. There is no "exclusivity" in terms of technology between the two variants.

The idea of political influence sunk when our current alliances were found to be on thin air. The whole concept of "Muslim Brotherhood" is founded on the fact that there is actually a realization by All muslims.. that all those who call themselves Muslims do deserve the benefit of the doubt to be taken as such. Since Syria is a clear example that it does not exist.. the whole basis for political influence on Muslim Brotherhood is unfounded. It is better to form alliances on friendship and respect; Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Brazil etc.. are all relationships to build on further in terms of defense. After all, the PA just bought weapons from the very serbians they formed a bullwark against in the 90's.

I would have thought Bangladesh would have been more instructive - but that's just me

Of course, if the customer pays extra for it. Qhat I meant though was, if China is offering FC-1 to exports customers, they probably will do it in a similar way and with similar capabilities as they offer J10B for example. That obviously would inculde coatings, weapons, or the Chinese engines, that PAF either couldn't afford, or don't wanted right? So the FC-1 could have some technical advantages, that the JF 17 wouldn't have.

Correct, but at the same time.. if the customer demands the coatings, weapons and Chinese engines on the JF-17 variant.. it could be done. Again, its too minuscule a point to actually differentiate on the purchase choice. What matters is the production capacity and stability of the production line.
