Ka-52 helicopter deflected 18 surface to air missiles of different types in a single sortie by jamming all warheads.
vitebsk currently equips almost all the helicopters in the Russian Air Force, according to the MoD, while the export variant, known as President-S, has been delivered to Egypt for their Ka-52s and Mi-17s, Algeria for their Mi-17s, Mi-26s and Mi-28s, Belarus for their Mi-8s.

As if this Ka-52 would stick around once a single surface to air missile was launched against it.

if that was the case there would be K-52's completely overrunning Ukraine instead of wasting time on the ground.
Yeah, they just either didn't fit their helicopters with them or they don't work.

20 Igla attacks at the same time...wtf is this nonsense. Typical text-to-voice video.

Any information on EW suite of KA-52?

The KA-52 is actually the only Russian platform that has maintained its reputation intact during the ongoing Ukrainian fiasco.

There are many videos of the KA-52s dodging Ukrainian SAMs like nothing. Absolutely impressive given the trash quality of Russian equipment.

Ukrainian forces have shot down a total of 38 Ka-52 gunships, probably more. Below is recent example:

Wagner also shot down a Ka-52 inside Russia.

I really doubt Ka-52 is as capable as this video seems to suggest.

All u boys seem to have missed the point of starting this thread n that is not the machine but the EW system known as vitebsk 25 that equips the ka 52....its export variant, known as President-S, equips several armed forces heles which include mi 8/18/24/28/35 n ka 52.....

So wt EW system our fleet of Russian helos are equipped with if any?
n can this EW be integrated onto our cobras. ?

As any future conflict with india the air space will be highly contested n slow moving rotary elements will be in great danger from shoulder fired missiles.

Do you think apache would survive in war like this ?

Figure of rotary elements losses admitted by the russians are
35 Kamov Ka-52 ‘Alligators,’ 12 Mi-28 ‘Havocs,’ 9 Mi-35s, and six older Mi-24 ‘Hinds.’ The lost Ka-52s represent 30 percent of the entire Russian fleet of Ka-52

I think that the EW system Vitebsk-25 was not taken seriously even by the rusians n its claims were made fun of but, but with the losses suffered by the russians, made then take a serious look at the system n equip its rotary elements operating in ukraine......hence the sudden increase in the activity of russian helos over ukraine

I will have to study these Russian airborne EW systems as I studied Russian Ground based EW system before.

So basically its the below EW system and its characteristics :

The Vitebsk-25 self-defense system consists of an infrared missile tracker and laser countermeasures. The laser countermeasures are used against the enemy’s surface-to-air and air-to-air missiles. The system’s defenses are boosted by a flare dispenser.

The equipment can reportedly detect and jam threats across 120 degrees azimuth and 60 degrees elevation. Alongside infrared threats, Vitebsk-25 detects and jams radar threats from four gigahertz/GHz up to 18GHz.The Vitebsk product family includes the L-370E8 system mounted on medium-lift utility helicopters and L-370E26L outfitting heavy-lift rotorcraft.

Attack helicopters are outfitted with the L-370P2, L-370V52, and L-370E50. The L-3703S variant equips fixed-wing platforms like the Su-25 fighter jets.

he Vitebsk-25 detects launches by scanning the area with radar, radar and laser warning receivers, and IR & UV sensors; and warns the crew about them.

After this, it offers passive protection to the aircraft by dispensing chaffs and flares to confuse and disable the missiles. But its active defense involves directly engaging the thermal homing systems of the “heat-seeker” missiles and deceiving them.

The Vitebsk-25 puts powerful jamming on the warhead of radar-guided targets and thus forces the “heat-seekers” toward the decoy targets.
