LCA Tejas Engines failed during high-altitude trials in Leh

wOULD LIKE TO THINK MK 2 TEJAS with bigger more poerful has expected will resolve the the high altitude issue

The F-16, F-7 and A-5 have all been operationally flown from Skardu which is about 7300ft.. So is some 3000 ft lower than Leh. The JF-17 has also been flown from Skardu but has not been operationally deployed at the base during an exercise.

Since PAA has flown choppers above 10,000 feet, i don't see why turbo fan engine fixed wing aircraft would have trouble with flying off from that altitude, perhaps with reduction in Maximum take off weights?

Helicopters take off vertically, and their thrust to weight ratio's are quite different. They also carry a lot less weight per power...and they also lose power at altitude; case in point is the Mi-6 that crashed that the PAF was evaluating in the 60's.
