Maj. Abid Majeed (Shaheed) May 19, 09--- Operation Rah-e-Rast (Swat)

Asalamualaikum Brothers and Sisters,

Major Abid Majeed was my first cousin (Son of my uncle). I just wanted to request that you all please pray for him and his family. I just met his sister and wife on Monday (the day he was martyred) and they are in need of prayers and patience at this testing time. Tomorrow it is Friday (Jummah) I would kindly request that you all please ask the imam's at your local mosques to make a speacial prayer for my cousin, that Allah may grant him paradise and the status of a Shaheed Inshallah.

May we all be guided onto the straight path.

Asalaualaikum,

Waqqas Awan

Thanks for sharing - the whole nation feels your pain and salutes all the brave young officers and jawans who are fighting for our country!:pakistan:

I know him from the days when he was in school. His elder brother is my class fellow and we lived in same area. He loved his country and enjoyed his job, courageous person who was never afraid in his life.
He is shaheed and he will be living in our memories and hearts.
I am proud and feel honoured of beeing his friend.

Gilani orders probe against ex-commissioner of Malakand

By Rauf Klasra

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has ordered a high-level inquiry into the allegations against former Malakand commissioner Muhammad Javed for facilitating the alleged beheading of four SSG commandos in Swat.

Gilani made the announcement during his interaction with senior journalists and anchorpersons at the PM House the other night. Muhammad Javed, nicknamed the “godfather” of Swat Taliban, was said to be acting as the key adviser to the “Taliban state”. Even the people of Buner had accused him of cheating them by telling lies in a bid to facilitate the fall of their city to Tajiks and Uzbeks last month when the local people had formed a Lashkar of 400 people to fight the invaders.

“Let me assure you that notice of the reports about the role of the former Malakand commissioner into the beheading of four SSG commandos has been taken at the highest level and he would be punished in the light of the report,” Gilani told journalists.

Gilani was told the family members of one SSG commando, Anjum Riaz, had pointed out in the presence of Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr Babar Awan the involvement of the former Malakand commissioner in the slaying of the commandos. Even the father of one of the slain commandos had demanded of Dr Babar Awan to ask the government to take action against the former Malakand commissioner as his son was beheaded because of this official.

The father of the martyred SSG commando had also disclosed that those commandos had broken the necks of eight Taliban in the room where they were kept after they realised that they were about to be beheaded. They fought like real heroes, but two guards standing outside the room had sprayed bullets on them, which led to their martyrdom and they were beheaded after they died. Gilani said the commissioner had been removed from his post and action would be taken against him in the light of the inquiry report

typical govt. reaction!this a/hole should be arrested immediately! by removing him, the govt. is giving this a/hole a chance to dissapear - what he is accused of is a "war crime"!

ASSALAM-O-ALAIKUM!

I am his younger sister's Brother in law and i never met such a person who would become your friend on very first few minutes of ur meeting, But Major abid was one of that kind of person. I still can't believe he is no more with us but the position Allah (SWT) gave him is very high and he will be with us for the rest of our lives (as shaheed's are not considered dead).

SaLute to his Bravery :pakistan:

Thank you,

Saqib Malik

Our condolence. May Allah reward him the Jannat and his family energy to overcome the shock.

Major Abid - A hero to his last breath!

Unfortunately the Pakistan Army has been the butt of Public Criticism during the last few years, but the people forget that the Pakistan Army and its valiant soldiers have always been injecting the fresh blood in the national polity by their inimitable sacrifices, be it the floods or the earthquake or the war against the enemy.

Same spirit of sacrifice and valour is being exhibited in the ongoing struggle against the militants. The heroic story of Major ABID MAJEED bears testimony to this reality. On the fateful morning of May 18, 2009 Major Abid Majeed’s brother Major Khalid was entrusted the task of recurring the area from Shalpalam to Jura whereas Major Abid Majeed’s company was responsible for securing the area from Jura to Nazarabad. Major Khalid’s company successfully secured the area followed by Major Abid Majeed. Thereafter Major Abid Majeed’s company was ordered to more forward. Thirteen vehicles of the company moved to safety however the last vehicle came under heavy and precise firing, near a nullah bend, by the militants. The driver of the vehicle embraced martyrdom there and then. No more movement was possible as the route was blocked. The forward troops tried to move back and rescue the trapped soldiers, however due to accurate and effective firing by the militants the movement was not possible. It was then at 1645 hrs that Major Abid Majeed decided to move back himself. He took two soldiers, the first aid kit and a water bottle and ordered his company to engage the militants. In the rain of bullets he rushed to site, dragged the two bleeding soldiers Sepoy Tariq and Sepoy Nausherwan to a place of safety. He immediately poured water into their mouths and then started bandaging them to stop the flow of blood. In the meantime his shoulder got exposed and shot. Not bettered by it, he kept engaged himself in the task of bandaging. The second bullet hit in his ribs, still did not prevent him from completing his task. Unmoved by the blood gushing out of his wounds he dragged the soldiers to a safer place. In the process he was hit by three bullets and he fell down. While bleeding profusely, he took the wireless to talk to his brother Major Khalid (for the last time), who was 100 meters away. "BROTHER I HAVE TO PAY SO MUCH TO SO AND SO, DO NOT FORGET IT. TAKE CARE OF THE MOTHER AND UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES LEAVE THE JOB OF ELIMINATING THE MISCREANTS INCOMPLETE. I WISH I COULD MARCH ON TO MINGORA AND SEE IT CLEAR OF THE MILITANTS". And then he succumbed to his injuries but he managed to save the lives of two soldier/comrades.

Sepoy Tariq and Nowsharwan can not control their tears at the mention of Major Abid Majeed’s name. The only words they utter are" Why Major Sahib why not us".

Long live Pakistan Army! Long Live Pakistan!
