Malaysia, China agree to settle South China Sea issues via DOC

Long time ago, refer DOC 2002.
Any other agreement isn't new, but the way to buying time
As China/Russia becomes more and more powerful and the West becomes weaker and weaker. It seems buying time is the best option there is. Its the same strategy they used with HK and Macao and the same Strategy China is using and winning with Taiwan. China needs not to rush, time is on their side as 3rd world countries become weaker and weaker and more and more slums are filling the voids, China and Russia in Alliance will lead the 21st century.

Malaysia needs to play this right, or else end up like the middle east.

Developing countries have missed the (late) industrialization express that China got onboard; hence, they have little chance to ctach up with the traditional and recent power-houses. All they can hope for is to become outsourcing centers for developed economies/industries. China might have done certain policy mistakes but strictly-controlled economic management and the political courage to undertake the painful restructuring have been great policies. It is only further expansion form this point on except certain shocks from global economic conditions as well as the shifting of economic fundamentals at home. There is no sustainable economic development without sound manufacturing (including heavy industries as well as new internet-based, networked manufacturing) and China weaker neighbors (those which show open hostility out of lil' guy's inferiority complex) will be hounted by their own stupidity because they are missiong out on one of the greatest development achievements in history.

As you rightly pointed out, time is on China's side. Micromanagement is our specialty. But those coarse big powers and insignificant lil' powers are (luckily) unable to see it.

it is unlikely to expect for alliance between Russia and China.

Now USA is being pushed out from East Asia altogether. PLAAF jets buzzed USN with anti-ship missiles. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/may/10/us-warships-chinese-fighters-tense-showdown-south-/? Philippines President Duterte said he does not believe in UN arbitration. Taiwan joined UN arbitration to support nine-sectioned line.

 Dollar is collapsing rapidly. Now is the time to dump all dollar assets! Americans are shooting each other with guns everywhere. The 2016 election may end in disputed result and then civil war!
I hope the Chinese gold-backed global currency starts now, because the dollar needs to go. American Dominance ends now, and with it their arrogance, too.

Vietnam media speaks the same during 1970s - 1980s that propaganda. "Capitalism is decaying" "blah blah"
And the fact that Soviet Union weaken and collapsed.

And every communism countries, who want to be stronger, must develop their own market oriented economy.

The fight, now is about market control, with FTAs, embargoes .. tools.

Who choose the right side, could be winners.

Don't understand what is "China/Russia becomes more powerful and the West become weaker"?

And the thread title is a misleading.

The true title is "Russia, India, Malaysia ... want the issues would be resolved by international laws, ie. UNCLOS 1982" means support Philippines

They already are allies. Even Moscow Times report as so

Exactly as you said. Many people said 10 years ago "Oh Chinas economy will collapse once we outsource the work to Indonesia/Vietnam etc etc" That hasn't happened because its not as easy as they thought and manufacturing like the super city factories in China is not easily duplicated.

What does that mean in English? China and Russia are allies and Vietnam is as consequential as Cambodia. China throws some money at democratic forces in Vietnam and boom, civil disorder.

:D

If China really had that in mind, Vietnam would have already become a nice satellite state divided neatly into two.

But outside the buzzing sound the Vietnamese hyper nationalist makes every now and then, Vietnam as strategically insignificant in China's grand vision as Burkina Faso.

Promoting any relation to allies is Moscow times right.

China-Russia axis is one of the most strategic security area in the world as is shown by China's financial support of Russia in the face of Western sanctions and Russia's implicit (soon, explicit, when the two navies hold drills in China's South Sea) support in the Asia-Pacific.

Of course, I do not even consider the annual East China Sea naval exercise.
