Malaysia rejects Indian Tejas and picks Korean FA-50

1.JF17 did not bid for Indonesia Fighter project.
2. The aviation cooperation between Indonesia and South Korea is deeper, because They have already purchased some T50 before. And Indonesia has also invested some money in South Korea's newly developed KF21.
3. Therefore, it is impossible for India's fighters to win the bid for this project from the beginning to the end.

1. We are talking about Malaysia, not Indonesia bro
2. Nothing to do with our T50 order though, South Korean asked Indonesia to join their KF21 program since 2009, long before we order T50 Golden Eagle.

Not only money, Indonesian Aerospace is also contributing on the design, even before KAI Korea and Lockheed Martin join the program since 2015. There are around 114 Indonesian design engineers participated during design phase reported by Korean respectable media (Yonhap).

The true number is 200 engineers, but not all of them stay in Korea until design phase is completed in the end of 2019 (for single seat prototype). After going back home in 2020 March, Indonesian design and structural engineers keep working while in Bandung, Indonesia. Double seat design for instant was still being worked during 2020.

The development is started since the beginning of 2011.

Indonesia delays payment for S. Korea's fighter development project

All News 11:49 October 07, 2019

"Despite such a delay in payment, the Indonesian side has continued to send its researchers to South Korea to take part in the development process," Rep. Kim Joong-ro of the minor opposition Bareunmirae Party said during a parliamentary audit into the administration, voicing concern about technology leaks.

As of July, 114 Indonesian engineers were sent to South Korea to work with Korea Aerospace Industries Co. (KAI), the country's sole aircraft manufacturer, to design and make a prototype of the fighter, according to a DAPA official.

Development of LCA TUDM
PAT in a joint interview with the media today has confirmed the Defense Ministry has obtained approval from the Finance Ministry to carry out price negotiations with selected tenders.
Physical inspection will be carried out once price negotiations are successful and agreed upon by both parties.

Because the Malaysian government insisted on using palm oil for payment, China refused JF-17 to participate in this bidding. China has only provided Malaysia with information about the L-15 trainer.

Congrats to Korea on sale of FA-50
if no JF-17s selected than hell no selection of Hal Coffin Tejas, don't know why even it was an Option to begin with, I do not doubt the intelligence of Malaysians but I knew a Malaysian strategic influencer guy from Quora website pulled out right after Malaysian air force started considering FA-50 jets from Korea, for sensitive info.

There was another requirement for this bid, 30% components for the planes need to be manufactured in Maylay. This is another reason both China & Pak could not accept.

When you know your self-protection suite is lousy and can't be depended upon to protect you from Western air defense systems, so you turn to spiritual help instead ...
