Mitt Romney says Israeli Culture is more superior than Palestinans

from pure theoretical perspective - he is not wrong

It's all about the Benjamins, didn't you know Hyperion? :)

Mate, I guess I'm built differently. I need my conscience to be perfectly balanced all the time :)

BTW, I love the Benjamin's as much as anyone else, but I do like Her Majesty a tad more :D

The Palestinian shouldn't even give one iota of thought to Romney's comment. It says a lot about their psyche when they're are deeply annoyed at the comments made by a Republican candidate.

...Our military convoy is heading from Iraq to Egypt (in the battle against German General Rommel ). We pass through Jordan and West bank. I see these nice and clean well maintained Jewish farms. Jewish men and women come to the road side and wave at us full of smiles. Women seems like mermaids and fairies. Then we drive through Arab areas that look pretty shabby. Arab children surround us begging for cigarettes.
Our convoy stops near Haifa. In the evening I and my fellow British officers make a point of visiting Jewish city of Haifa. the bars here serve the best orange juice I have ever tasted. Someone tells me that oranges for the juice are grown in the local Jewish farms. [/b][/color]

So this was the condition of Jewish and Arabs many years before the Arabs-Jewish wars of 1948, 1967, 1973 etc. and the way things are it is the same $hite today.
Another account by an American historian and traveler, from January, 1930:

Would you see with your own eyes the transformation wrought throughout Palestine by the enterprise of these [Jewish] immigrants? Enter at stormy Haifa, and ride by the modern railway from the port to the capital. Look out at Benjamina, at Richon, at Kudeirah, at Peta-Tikva, and see the once arid fields flourishing; note the great orange-groves in the hinterland of Jaffa; and at Tel-Aviv observe a new Jewish city risen in a decade out of the sand. Alongside the individual Arab peasant tillling the earth primitively with camel and plough rise the Jewish co-operative farms, uniting to finance new methods, new machinery, agricultural experiment stations, and agricultural schools...Of the arable land ninety-three percent is owned by Arabs, who will not sell to Jews, or will sell only at twice or thrice the price asked of good Mohammedans. How can an Arab love a Jew when the Jewish farmer, though city-bred, given to letters, and completely unfitted for the rural life, produces four to five times as much per acre as the Arab coaxes from his soil? How can the Arab look with content on the groves that have made a Jaffa orange the noblest work of God?

Add to this the hospitals and dispensaries, the schools and the university which the immigrants have brought to Palestine with unforgivable initiative. The Jews are too brilliant to remain content with farming; their active minds demand commerce, industry and urban variety as a vital need...they organized labor, and won shorter hours and higher wages for Jewish and Arab workers alike...They found a country without reliable water to drink, with typhoid, dysentery, malaria, and eye-diseases rampant; they drained the swamps, cleared and extended the water-supply, brought malaria and trachoma under control, established public sanitation, and opened these services to all They built and operated their own schools, and at the same time paid heavy taxes for the maintenance of the public shcools in which Britain is educating the Arabs...

But because of these very achievements, the racial problem - if we may loosely speak of a racial problem between peoples who are all of one race, Semitic brothers in origin and blood - had become more dangerous than before. The growth and success of the Jews inflamed the Arabs with a jealous rage...They resolved to put the matter to the ordeal of blood.

On August 14, 1929, 10,000 Jews arrived in Jerusalem to gather at the Wailing Wall the next day and mourn together the destruction of the Temple. Arab leaders spread throughout Palestine the word that Jews had killed Arabs in Jerusalem...so the Arabs swept down upon the Jews at the Wailing Wall, and slew scores of praying women and men...inflamed Arabs slaughtered helpless students in the Hebrew seminary at Hebron and throughout Palestine armed Muslims fell upon unarmed Jews, until there was a total of several hundred Jewish wounded and dead. For four weeks terror ruled....

Who was to blame? They were all to blame, Arabs and British and Jews alike; it would be well if they could accept the guilt together...

...The Effendis who rule the Arab peasant and mulct him religiously would not want him empowered by votes, or instructed by universal education, to demand democracy -

I have lived in UAE for over 12 years, have experienced more than I wanted of Arab history. The Israelis there gave me a good idea of Israeli culture too. Over all, I dislike Arab culture thoroughly but I still wouldn't claim Israeli culture is any better from what I've experienced (Notwithstanding my friend, but then you have good Arabs too)

haha!

This is what I expected. You Sir, lived in UAE and acquired one Israeli friend, and thus became an expert on Arab-vs.-Israeli culture.

It is like someone who lived in Mumbai, never stepped foot out of the city, and now claims to be the expert on all things Bihari (and other BIMARU states of India). Not only that, you ate once in a Chinese restaurant in Mumbai, so you are a self-declared expert on Indo-Chinese cultures.

What a pity!

You my dear dear poster, are not too different from so many Pakistanis who go for Umra in Makkaah Madina, then claim to be the Islamic scholars and authority on all things Arabic, Jewish, Christian, Hindus, Buddhists and nudists.

As people say in Pakistan,

Neem Hakim Khatra Jaan, Neem Mooooooooooooolah Ayatoooooolah, khatra Iman.

Excellent post. Thanks.

Oh BTW things haven't changed since the time of good ole Will's time.

Even today, In Saudi Arabia, it all OK and 100% kosher to snatch a well run expat business.

Suadi Islamist law forces the expat investors for keeping dead beat Saudi as "partner" or "Kafeel (sponsor)".

Big corporations aside, small time expat businesses are truly at the mercy of these leeches. Dead beat Saudi tribal can always kick you out of your business and take the whole thing.

And Islamist law has no protection for you whatsoever.

Just like the jealous Arab tribes wanted to snatch Jewish businesses, modern day Saudis do the same.

And then we have blind summun bukmun posters on this forum who BTW live in EU and North America, forcing everyone to drink from the (mod edit)******* (Mod Edit)

What a pity.

I will say this to your foolish assumption. If I only knew my friend, my opinion of Israeli culture would be very high.

Ok! So while you are giving sermons to everyone how bad they are about their judgements, can you please enlighten us

1.how many Jews you have met in you life?
2.How many times you have been to Israel?

Or its just that misplaced superiority complex that its my way or highway?

I just come back from school and this tread has like a thousand views and over a 100 replies. Nice trolling people:D My most highest replied thread (so far).

Shooting the messenger? eh!

Quick answer!

Enough "direct" exeperience to have an informed decision instead of relying on Sunni - Sunnai baatain (heresy).

Do you have anything to contribute?
