KARACHI (October 04 2007): Lieutenant General Khalid Qudwai on Wednesday decided to take retirement as Director General of Pakistan Nuclear Assets and Strategic Plan Division, Aaj TV reported. Major General Khalid Jafferi has been appointed as Deputy Director General of Strategic Plan Division.

Khalid Jafferi will be promoted as Lieutenant General on October 7, the TV channel added. Major General Khalid Jafferi was working as a Director General of Anti-Narcotics Force.

yes jafferi is Deputy DG.

He was Dy DG SPD for as long as he was a Maj Gen. Upon promotion to Lt Gen, he was to assume the charge of DG SPD. This is just a protocol issue. Jafferri currently is the DG SPD as his promotion date to Lt Gen was Oct 7.
