Pakistan offers ammo for Afghan coalition troops

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has offered to supply “quality” ammunition manufactured at the Pakistan Ordnance Factory to British and other coalition troops fighting in Afghanistan, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said on Saturday.
Addressing a joint press conference with British Foreign Secretary David Miliband, Qureshi raised the issue of UK visas for Pakistani nationals. He highlighted the difficulties faced by students and diplomats in getting visas from the British High Commission.
Peace: Miliband said peace and security in Afghanistan depends on security and stability in Pakistan.
“Security, stability and prosperity in Afghanistan depends on security, stability and prosperity in Pakistan,” he said.
He expressed support for the democratic government and said relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan had improved since the civilian set had come into power in Islamabad.
Miliband said it was vital for improvement in ties between Pakistan and India that Islamabad hold a trial of the alleged perpetrators of the Mumbai attacks.
He said the main objective of his visit, the sixth since he took over, was to take Pakistan into confidence about the London Conference on Afghanistan on January 28.
He said the conference would help to improve security and prosperity in that country.
