New Delhi: A shocking new video - released by Britain's Channel 4 - could expose the alleged war crimes against LTTE in Sri Lanka. The video shows slain LTTE chief Prabhakaran's 12-year-old son Balachandran's body stripped to the waist and with five bullet holes to the chest.
The video has surfaced at a time when Colombo is fighting off a US resolution at the UN, demanding an immediate probe into atrocities by Lankan soldiers.
Following External Affairs Minister SM Krishna and his officials' hints in recent days to suggest Delhi 'would do its best to bail out Colombo', the revealations by Channel 4 could not only embarrass the Sri Lankan delegation at the UNHRC session, but India too.

The footage, believed to be shot by Sri Lankan troops present during the cold-blooded execution of the Prabhakaran family towards the end of the Eelam war, suggests that the boy was shot from a close range.
There were also bodies of five men, perhaps his bodyguards, with shreds of clothing lying nearby suggesting they were blindfolded and executed, said The Independent of UK.
Beside the evidence of the murders, the Sri Lankan government has also been charged with deliberate denial of adequate humanitarian supplies of food and medicine to civilians trapped in those grotesquely misnamed No Fire Zones.
However, dubbing the latest footage as 'highly spurious and uncorroborated allegations', the Lankan High commission in London said the film had 'chosen to ignore the many positive post-conflict developments now taking place in the country'.

Lankan forces photographed killing 12-yr-old son of LTTE leader in cold blood after handing snack

LONDON: Fresh questions have been raised over Sri Lanka's armed forces conduct during the final stages of the operation against Tamil Tiger rebels after new photographs emerged claiming that the 12-year-old son of the rebels' leader was summarily executed.

A series of photographs show Balachandran Prabhakaran, son of Villupillai Prabhakaran, who was head of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).

According to the Independent, one of the photos shows the boy sitting in a bunker, alive and unharmed, apparently in the custody of Sri Lankan troops.

Another picture which was taken a few hours later shows the boy's body lying on the ground, his chest pierced by bullets.

The images were taken in May 2009 at the end of the Sri Lankan government's operation to crush the LTTE, which had launched a bloody, decades-long insurgency against the state that led to the deaths of perhaps 70,000 people.

According to the report, the authorities always said Prabhakaran's son was killed in cross-fire, as troops moved in to take the LTTE's last stronghold.

But the images, contained in a new documentary, No Fire Zone, which will be screened at the Geneva Human Rights Film Festival during the UN Human Rights Council meeting in March, suggest the boy was captured alive and killed at a later stage.

A forensic pathologist who examined the later images for the filmmakers, said the boy was shot five times in the chest.

Furthermore, propellant burns around the wound suggest he was shot at very close range.

The film's director, Callum Macrae, claimed that the new photographs were important evidence because they appear to rule out any suggestion that Balachandran was killed in cross-fire or during a battle.

They show he was held, and even given a snack, before being taken and executed in cold blood.

Prabhakaran's body was displayed on state television, part of the front of his skull missing, also suggesting he may have been shot at close range.

The Sri Lankan authorities have always denied shooting anyone who was trying to surrender, it added.

The Law of land will punish the war criminals.

An unfortunate incident that a 12 year old was killed in cold blood for the wrong doings by his father.

Atleast SL army should have spared the child.

I nearly fell down laughing after reading that part!:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

you see, I personally think that arguing on this topic is gonna be of no use.

we will never know what exactly happened.

let us wait for final UN verdict and wish sri Lanka best of luck for future.

People get killed in war that is called collateral damage, but you don't tie up people and execute them even if they are the enemy and that too 12 year olds

Earlier I was Pro-SL and anti LTTE…but looking at the behaviour of SL post the demise of LTTE; my perception towards SL has changed completely….they played the game very well and used us against our own people…we silly people never understood the root cause and blindly extended the support to SL cause….but I guess, LTTE had point as they had to deal with SL !!

So can you pls explaine what that "Root cause" is..I myself is from a minority community in the island..I would like to know whats so specific about the Tamils that LTTE apperently fought for devasatating the country and decimating a whole generation of Lankan Tamils as cannon fodder,That my community did'nt obliged to??

Wow so much crocodile tears for one kid of a megalomaniac..Where was Ch 4,TN jokers and rest of the Western bloodsuckers,Human rights mafia when children young as 8 were forcibly snatched from thier parents and send to the front line by this kids father?? Probably those billions of funds of extortion,Gunrunning and human smuggling were used then to buy bombs and cynide capsules than to buy off leeches like Callum McRae to "produce" sob stories?? Not a single innocent Tamil child had died since 2009,To fulfill some extreamist's day dream..That for me makes this episode negligence

Sir, if you look at Indian reactions carefully, you will know that an overwhelming majority of us do not support LTTE. Even our government has sincerely cut off LTTE ties and played our role in destroying LTTE - a legitimate goal of SL government.

Now that cleared, can you pls talk about the war crimes issues and delivering justice to innocent people? Surely you do not wish your country to be known a pariah state by judging them by the same standards applicable to a proscribed terrorist group? These people are your citizens are they not? What do you think, the civilians do not want justice be cause they also faced injustice at the hands of LTTE?

I fully supported complete destruction of LTTE, but I find SL govt's behaviour distrubing. Please consider that.

Talking of sons of megalomaniacs, does rajpakse have a son?
