Gallup’s analysis of the data found that giving money is more strongly correlated with happiness than with a nation’s gross domestic product.

“It would be reasonable to conclude that giving is more an emotional act than a rational one,” the report says.

Stupid list. Almost as bad as the failed states list. The more wealth a country has the more of a chartiable attitude they have. An even better test would be seeing which countries give the most free resources or have them stolen. They truly are generous souls.

first- dont know where you get America vs China... clearly you did not read the various articles. Secondly- can you please put some intelligent thought into your second half of your claim- it's not making any sense and at best it has nothing to do w/ the topic at hand.

PAKISTAN$3.1 billion: The amount allocated to economic and development assistance, including food aid, during the same period.

Pakistan flood:By far the worst natural disaster in Pakistan's history, extensive flooding that began on July 22 has affected more than 20 million people and covered one-fifth of the country's territory. Floods devastated crops, damaged 1.7 million homes, and displaced millions of people countrywide.

As of October 13, USAID had sent 24 flights of emergency relief supplies and provided $334 million to meet immediate humanitarian needs and help the people of Pakistan recover from the floods

Thanks to USAID health messages provided to a leader in her community in Pakistan, 15-year-old Bakhtawar will be able to finish school before she is married.

its not that they hate their parents ....it is their culture which is developed in that particular way ....

what's your point? how is this relevant?

I dont think taking care of the old is a " muslim" thing as you have eluded to... it happens in the US too, just that the parents numerically here are much well to do. In parts of Asia- Most so called "people taking care of parents" are doing it because can't afford their own place and have to shack with parents... But to answer you initial question- NO... the americans don't love their parents any less...

Simple.. be thankful.. american help you when you guys need it the most...

Something very fishy about those numbers.

For example:

US GDP = $15 trillion, so $28.67 billion is 0.2% of GDP
France GDP = $2.2 trillion, so $12.43 billion is 0.57% of GDP

So France gives more as a percentage of GDP.
