The Weakness of Xi Jinping - How Hubris and Paranoia Threaten China’s Future

Dont know about ppl of china but if you ask any Indian or may be an amercan they will say, Xi must go...which means he is not seen as favorable leader by rival countries and there he gets the credit. I personally think, he will follow the Putin way and hold on the top position
F with you indians and americans, XI is a chinese leader, you idiots dont have shit say about chinese matters, Xi is responsible to chinese only and dont have to make you yankees and indians happy, if he do that then Xi is a traitor not doing his job and should be removed. Stop being arrogant and narcissistic you indians, think you should dictate chinese politics or any matters. Chinese dont give a shit what you think.

By the way, chinese are not happy with belligerent Modi, Biden and Trump too and like to see they removed from office otherwise you india and us are not seen as good countries. Chinese like to see they screw up your countries and then we will say they are good leaders and acceptable to chinese, right.

ok F with u chinese and your views as well .if it sounds related!!!.. does it really matter? 🤣😁

Xi was bumbling along just fine with all his yesmen until his disastrous mishandling of the Wuhan virus leakage ! He has come unhinged since then. That untimely visit to Wuhan, the series of disastrous and futile attempts to wiggle out, the amateurish brief collusion with the corrupt WHO crowd, the idiotic stand of not buying working vaccines, the childish lock downs . .. his legacy is a China that could have been.

If CCP had any brains they'll throw him out gracefully
Go f yourself poor indians, only you shitty indians infected with indian delta virus need foreign vaccines. You indians are doing great job compared to chinese by screwing up completely letting 6 million indians die and still have the thick face to lecture chinese on the subject everyday.

Yes.

In fact, Jiang Zemin's greatest merit is that he banned the army from doing business.

Hu Jintao's greatest achievement is that China's economy has increased by 580% in 10 years.

Xi's greatest achievement is to make the housing market soft landing.

Each of them is outstanding, and they have made historic contributions to this country. But this is not the reason to break the rules.

Agreed, the rules help give potential future leaders experience, so that the nation isn’t dependent on a few people as in Russia right now.

A future leader of China will have to do something about getting BRI really going as well as creating a “soft landing” for China’s demographic problem; more robotics and successfully encouraging people to have more kids through incentives like free housing and childcare/daycare like the Israeli kibbutz model. But also possibly exploring guest worker programs from neighboring friendly nations. Pakistan’s population is set to nearly double in the next 30 years, to nearly 400 million, and it could be a good source of skilled labor in some Chinese factories.

One of the lessons of the war in Ukraine is economic isolation (imports and exports) can undue the domestic market. If China can’t be self-sufficient, it needs friendly nations to be reliable suppliers and export markets. Towards that end, China will have to help “rehabilitate” these countries to maximize their potential, for their own benefit as well as that of China.

North Korea for example, right on China’s border has significant resources and with modernization could be a growing export market for Chinese goods. If North Korea isn’t rehabilitated, it is at risk of collapsing one day and joining South Korea. A thriving North Korea could also be a potential rail corridor to South Korea and Japan, furthering regional integration and increasing Chinese influence on trade, making it more in South Korea and japan’s interests not to challenge Chinese Interests.

Rehabilitation would be a balancing (helping countries become economically competitive, less corrupt, and primed to properly utilize FDI) act, take. On a case by case basis, but if not done, threaten to undermine Chinese influence in friendly nations as the rival camp gears up to counter China across the board and around the world.

Getting countries rehabilitated also includes helping them get out of global sanctions, and would make investing in them more profitable for Chinese investors instead of continuing to invest in Chinese real estate which has diminishing potential ROI. Long term growth of Chinese exports depends on these friendly markets growing, IMHO, not just Chinese companies catching up in key technologies.

Btw, Indian media is spreading rumors all day President Xi is under house arrest by the PLA. Just a FYI.

Do you know why Chinese people are so confident? Because we are not the same species as you Ganges subspecies.

When China needed railway, Zhan Tianyou chose to return home.
When China needed artillery, Zhu Rui chose to return home.
When China needed hybrid rice, Yuan Longping chose to return home.
When China needed ICBM, Qian Xuesen chose to return home.
When China needed the atomic bomb, Deng Jia chose to return home first.
When China needed a hydrogen bomb, Yu Min chose to return home.
When China needed nuclear submarines, Huang Xuhua chose to return home.
When China needed satellites, Sun Jiadong chose to return home.

Even in the poorest and most dangerous times, we will never lack the elites who are willing to devote themselves to the nation.

And you Ganges subspecies will never lack Adani and Ambani. You have no national elite worthy of your pride. You will only be proud of the CEO of the USA.

When you think that a good leader is as important as a good system, you have wandered to the edge of an abyss called "personality cult". Your thoughts are closer to the Korean people than to the Chinese people.

The Chinese civilization and Confucian system have always believed in "民为贵,社稷次之,君为轻" for thousands of years, which means that the people are the most important, the social system is the second, and the emperor is the least important.

In the current situation, the wisdom and hard-working Chinese people are the most important. The social system established by CCP ranks second, and our supreme leader happens to be the least important.

Let us not think that it is wrong for a good leader to sacrifice his political life for a good system. The Chinese civilization and Confucian system have always believes that "受国之垢,是谓社稷主.受国不祥,是为天下王." means to bear the humiliation of the country and the people and sacrifice for the country and the people, which is the duty of an emperor. In our times, it is Xi's duty to sacrifice his political life for the people and the country.

Please read my words carefully:"rich countries are not necessarily incorruptible countries, but a incorruptible country must be a rich country."

The USA is the kind of country that I said is rich but not incorruptible.
Is there any poor country that is incorruptible ?

And you Ganges subspecies will never lack Adani and Ambani. You have no national elite worthy of your pride. You will only be proud of the CEO of the USA.

Are you suggesting 3 million Chinese Americans do not want to be the CEOs of Microsoft and Google ? It sounds more like sour grapes

Poor countries cannot maintain incorruptible for long.

In the list of the world's top 500 enterprises, there are 145 enterprises in China, and all CEOs are Chinese.
There are 124 enterprises in USA, including 38 Indian CEOs and 14 Chinese CEOs.

It is not that Chinese people are unwilling to become Google CEO, but that they have more development opportunities in China. The combined turnover of Google, Wal Mart and Amazon is not even more than that of China Tobacco.

The first choice for Chinese people is to return to China and become the CEO of China's top enterprises. Their second choice is to start a business in the USA and become the CEO of their own company, not the CEO of a company owned by Americans.

For example, Huang Renxun, CEO of Nvidia, Su Zifeng, CEO of AMD, Wu Jianmin, CEO of Huamei Bank, Yuan Zheng, CEO of Zoom, etc.

Chinese enterprises that dominate the global tobacco industry with an annual profit of US $214 billion. Is its CEO worse than Google's CEO? In 2021, Google's profit was $76 billion.

Indians are preferred by the whites in america becos they are good lackeys to the whites and the geopolitical alliance between us and india against china.

The problem is NK wont listen to china on their internal affairs, they dont want to follow the chinese model in development, they want to follow their own way. With us and SK armies threatening NK by the minute, its impossible to build railroads and roads that connect to the south and japan. And korea and japan will probably never get along becos of brutual history. Before any east asian intergration can happen, the yankee army has to be kicked out there in SK and japan first.

Perhaps as Russia’s bandwidth to support North Korea contracts due to their current geopolitics issues and the world goes into a recession, North Korea will change its mind. They have build a considerable strategic arsenal and will come to realize a strong economic one is necessary for them to buy modern military equipment from the only major military supplier that has capacity to spare. An improving standard of living is also something the North Korea people desire, and that the current leader there has indicated he would like to see.

The same thought process will have to be understood by any country not in the western bloc. For China, helping those countries and their leaders realize it, as well as facilities the changes will be a symbiotic requirement for mutual prosperity. There are probably dozens of countries like this, but the key will have to be Chinese investment in helping to train locals as well as investing capital (not loans) in countries on a sustainable size that provides equal reward but also carries equal risk to both host nation and Chinese investor.

For example, in Haiti, a gold mine was to be developed but with only 2% of the profits going to the Haitian government/people. A more equitable Chinese alternative could help Haiti earn revenue to provided badly needed social services (also, their army needs weapons to deal with gang warfare/lawlessness) as well as help Chinese interests (The current government in Haiti is one of the countries that recognizes Taiwan). Haiti is not allowed to buy arms globally due to sanctions. “Rehabilitation” for Haiti would make it a prime candidate for tourism. It’s neighbor on the same island, the Dominican Republic is the number one tourism destination in the Caribbean, while Haiti is the poorest country in the entire Western Hemisphere, despite being only a few hundred miles from the US, with a GDP per capita 50 times smaller then the US and many times less then the Dominican Republic.

Current efforts of China with regards to Haiti:

Not until US army withdraw from SK, NK will remain a military first and tightly controlled society for fear the US and SK will invade and topple NK any time. Any open and free reform in NK to develop its economy is pretty much out of the question, and chinese and other investments wont go in large amout without free market. I dont think the NK gov likes that much foreign investments currently out of suspicion.

As for chinese investments around the world, i do agree with you that china should help other friendly countries to develop esp those ones in its neighbourhood and along BRI for the mutual benefits.

As for countries like Haiti, it is not chinas priority to invest and help develop such countries, there is no strategic value to china at present, far away just next door to us. For Haiti, i think us should take the lead to help develop the country if us has slightest care of its neighbours well being as it claims around the world. Besides, haiti doesnt have diplomatic relation with china but with taiwan, that much complicates the matter. China is not and should not be like santa claus that can just give out money or development to any country that wants.

Glad you found some stuff to be proud of. At this rate some Chinese people may start asking for right to choose leaders.
