US exempts 11 nations from Iran sanctions; China, India exposed

USA are idiots , they themselves promote FREE TRADE agreements with Canada , Mexico and Europe

Yet for others they talk about not getting into free trade agreements and economic benefits -

This should be boycotted in United Nations to Show who is BOSS

And that takes time. This is not grocery shopping that you switch shops just like that. Indians companies are in talks with Iraq and Saudi Arabia for increased imports from next year onward.

Changing suppliers will affect the price of fuel, just because other countries are promising to give you oil at cheaper rates doesn't guarantee cheaper fuel at the bowser, not straight away anyways. Any sudden change or ban on import will jack up the fuel prices and Indian economy is not in a state to deal with such uncertainties.

Is that your " speaking out loud" moment- it's cool if it is- because everything you have said does not apply as it stands now. Saudi Arabia is pumping out just more barrels a day and supplying other countries who have also reduced supplies with ease and no disruption. This was no hair brain idea thought up by the US . The supply chains won't be hurt... logistics are already in motion . You think all these other countries that got a break are sitting with no back up ? Saudi Arabia has been filling their short supplies.

These are UN sanctions included too. :D

70% of the oil exported by iran is for india and china. the topic of thread should bee can us clash with india and china in our waters in asia 1000s of miles away from us? its not afghanistan or pakistan which can exploit. we need oil and we dont care if iran develops nukes, so why should we help them.

No this is not my "speaking out loud" moment. Downstream fuel prices will get affected when you change your upstream supplier. US leaders obviously won't tell that to the media.

EU has already stopped buying oil from Syria, Lybian production is down thanks to the war, uncertainty in Iraq, and you want the whole world to bank on Saudi Oil? What happens if there is an explosion/accident at one of the Saudi facilities, or the production falls for any other reason?

Guess who ll be getting the shot end of the stick then. Not America, not EU, it will be countries like India which will suffer.

You are now embarrassing Indians. This is about economic sanctions and not US 5th fleet coming to attack you. Please stop with these kind of posts.

Why shouldn't japan be afraid of the USA ? the USA turn japan to rubble and gave it a rebirth as a successful country today.

I would say you are misled by west propaganda. Japan's success is out of their own intelligence and diligence after the US shelled dirty bombs in Nagasaki and Hiroshima.

the Japanese will remember the day of shame, deep down in their heart. As soon as the US start declining, they will dump everything american like a peace of sh1t.

what happens if Israel bombs Iran and Iran's ONE FREAKING facility to refine oil is blown up and you have no back up? what happens with all the economic sanctions you will face? I don't know why you insist on debating me on his. Facts are facts, the cost of oil is gone up due to war speculation by speculators on wall street who buy oil futures.

Saudi Arabia is supplying Oil to all with additional burden of having dropped supplies down- that is a fact... you don't want to believe it - then don't . No amount of thinking it will create nightmares will change the fact that it has not.

Not sure if you know this India is already buying Oil from Saudi Arabia . They will put more barrels in and increase more transport ships :).

India has not yet completed its process of reducing the oil supplies. It has started and is almost there- till it does wholly as accepted ( will be done soon) - it won't have the exemptions. Really that simple!

Last I heard India has actually said it plans to continue buy oil from Iran and payments would be through barter system including food products (last month they imported 2 millions tons of wheat), other finished goods. India is also planning to pay by building infrastructure (mostly roads and railways) in Iran which would be a part of the North-South corridor for ultimately providing a gateway to the resource rich central asia and afghanistan.

Also if the US sanctions any Indian bank, good luck sanctioning Union Ban of India..a bank with 100% local dealings with virtually no international exposure save iranian oil payments.

Saudi Arabia has promised to take up the slack and supply it ( cheap rates too). Really it has only been in the news for months now. Your supply won't be hurt. US is not dumb to force something without giving you a viable alternative.

The thing is Iranian and Saudi crude are of varying density and hence the refining process (or machinery) is tuned to the specific requirements in different refineries depending on what crude they handle..it is not as easy as "ok this shop has no tandoori chicken..lemme go the next".

The USA is one of the P5 veto members, unfortunately.

These are not full blown economic sanctions...just sanctions on the financial institution that deals with the Iranian crude or other products.

India has taken care to shield its main banks from the sanctions and has left a sacrificial lamb for the US to happily slaughter (sanction).

Let us say that everyone switches to Saudi Arabia as their main supplier.

Then what happens the next time that the USA is demanding something (like sanctions on Iran)? :cheesy:

What... why do you insist on posting without reading the subject matter? KSA has taken up the slack officially on the request of the US, because of the sanction being put in place.

what was the report says China cut down Iranian oil import too? just a few weeks ago?

again this clearly tells China should not trust a word from the US. By game theory, if the US didn't act to China's goodwill to cut oil import, China should retaliate, just buy more from Iran.

or we only conclude that Americans are not only stup1d, but also against universal rules?

let's see your banks and its dealings with US and Europe ( both have sanction threat in place) will cease. Nor will any company that you deal with in those two entities nor will anyone who adheres to it ( like say japan)will deal with India.

USA very much aided and help rebuild japan, Atomic Bombs were justified.
The USA has experienced relative decline yet they have not dumped the US.
