US offers its latest fighter to India

WTF
It will blow away our Relations with USA. The hegamonic designs of US have now came infront of US . Its time to wake up ppl...US is not our ally any more :agree: . Pakistan should approch Turkey as its also one of the member of F-35 project .

However i still have my doughs that USA is really going to give the Indians such an advance tech ....my mind is in state of Denial

May be Gen have also played somthing in it ...

PA ..instead of hoping for the best prepare for the worst ..:undecided:
:pakistan::pakistan:

If Pakistan would leave USA, its could be a problem for now but its the right decisions that will save us from further ado in the long run. USA is a liability on Pakistan and sooner we lay it off, the better would be for Pakistan's security, defense and existence. We wont die by letting the American rope go, we know how to survive and our friends are there to hold our hand. They always did and after America beefing up India's militry potential, China is in more need of us than it ever was.

I just can imagine the yanks did it again , though not the sanctions but surely imbalanced the power equilibrium in South Asia.

Let us just follow the events of the past 25-30 days...

1. Obama states new Afghan Policy
2. CIA cheif visits Pakistan and DG ISI presents him the proof of CIA agents in destabalizing activities .
3. Pakistan builds its first indegeneous JF-17 Thunder Aircraft with help of China
4. US demands for an action in North Waziristan to the PA but its turned down.
5. Indian Army Cheif sying his Army could fight both Pakistan and China simultaneously and can finish the job in 96 hours.
6. US issues dicriminatory checking of Pakistani nationals at Airports
7. Chinese Vice President meets DG Strategik Plans Divition Genral Tarik Majid to discuss the matters in the light of General Kapoors statements
8. China test fires an anti missile defence system and shows anger over the possible US arms sales to Taiwan
9. US offers its most advance military hardware to the Sino-Pak 's Traditional Rival India...
10... Yet to come ...

Blain2's posting is relevant...about the only really relevant comments made thus far. LM has an internal obligation to market their product.

I believe that they're doing so but, as Blain2 has indicated, the U.S. government will have final say on both WHO and HOW MANY are acquired by others.

Then there's the waiting list. That could be accelerated depending upon LM's internal financials and the desire of the U.S. government to see these aircraft with others.

Finally, there are the offsets that may be factored. India may decide to leverage its relationship with America by declining the offer if a similar offer is made to Pakistan. America may or may not care and, if so, to what degree.

In short, Blain2 has provided the best possible road-map for the near term and the best speculation beyond such.

Thanks.:usflag:

Blain comments are sensible and very true TODAY and at Present.

JSF F35 is wanted by non partners like ISRAEL & JAPAN and even they will have to wait. til after the junior partners get there planes first between 2012 -2017..

HOW EVER.

I feel India and pakistan are de hynated from each other and USA will treat INDIA LONG TERM differently from pakistan in terms of senstive military tech.

Whislt USA will happliy give IAF partial tech TOT for AESA or nuke tech deal those doors are not open to pakistan. This could be for a number of reasons but may include.

1. India is considered a long term strategic ally. to counter china
2. India has the finincial clout $ billions of dollars of military hardware offers the biggest military hardware market in the world in the near future. Pakistan is very small market and may require grant/free aid..
3. Senstive hitech F35 BEING transferred to china Paks main ally maybe a issue.
4. WOT and mistrust of elements in pakistan GOP.

i DO AGREE THOUGH both USA GOVT is not ready to offer F35 to india and i don,t think india is ready to trust USA with such a huge order. There is stil deep mistrust on both sides

We should not care that India is getting it or not!
The only thing we have to care about is our policy!

Why did it take so many decades to understand that Pakistan and United States are not "natural" allies. We learned a lesson by paying a high price.

I doubt that Pakistan Military Establishment was all pro U.S. It may have good relations but they are not stupid enough to put all the eggs in one basket!

We should stop singing American songs in Islamabad!
This time try something new and different.

1. India will not go for F-35 due to cost. There will be a financial impact on other projects and relationships.

2. India will not get it's own 5th gen before 2025. This estimate is looking at delays in Arjun and LCA etc.

3. If India goes for F-35, then Russia and China will collaborate even more on the 5th gen fighter and result will be a cheaper jet for China, Russia and possible for Iran, Pakistan and Venezuela. This will not be in India's benefit.

BUT If the US plan is to create a fear of Chinese 5th gen jets in order to create a market for F-35s then the US govt. will facilitate such moves to force India into a buy of F-35.

First the US will make a mess with MRCA budget then it will milk more money out of India on a continuous basis.

your assuming India and China want to fight each other.
both nations have been reaching out diplomatically and simultaneously taking precautionary measures.

But i though LM had government permission

India Strategic quoted Orville Prins, Lockheed Martin's vice president for business development, as saying that the presentation was made after a Request for Information (RFI) for newer generation of aircraft was received from the Indian Navy recently.

Prins pointed out though the company had been authorized by the US Department of Defense (DOD) to make the presentation, its sale could be done only after a bilateral agreement between Washington and New Delhi.

Arms and weapon systems are developed by private companies in the US with government funding, but the DoD controls their sales. Foreign military sales are undertaken after clearance from the Department of State.

Can you shed some light on this S-2.

1. India will not go for F-35 due to cost. There will be a financial impact on other projects and relationships.

Sure they are expensive, but the navy has only on option for the 5th gen carrier borne aircraft, if they want one they have to get the F-35

2. India will not get it's own 5th gen before 2025. This estimate is looking at delays in Arjun and LCA etc.

That's not delay that is the time table set down for for the MCA.

But the FGFA will be in Indian hands by the end of the decade

3. If India goes for F-35, then Russia and China will collaborate even more on the 5th gen fighter and result will be a cheaper jet for China, Russia and possible for Iran, Pakistan and Venezuela. This will not be in India's benefit.

What collaboration are you talking about, Russi ais collaborting wiht India not China
Why are you talking about Iran
why are you talking about Venezuela

These have their own foreign affairs .
You are assuming too much.

BUT If the US plan is to create a fear of Chinese 5th gen jets in order to create a market for F-35s then the US govt. will facilitate such moves to force India into a buy of F-35.

So wanting to field the best-possible Military hardware is reliant of having some thing to fear.

You tell me why an Indian Admiral wont boost his carrier's capabilities with 5th gen platforms. He will do it for the sake of doing it.

First the US will make a mess with MRCA budget then it will milk more money out of India on a continuous basis.

sure we get US tech, we pay for it.

milking works both ways.

Right attitude.. Just one comment.. Having friends is good, but dont get in the trap of replacing one friend (US) whom you are dependent on with another. You dont know what equations will emerge in 20 years, just like 20 years back you were not aware that relations with US will be what they are today...

@faithfulguy - India just dont want a figher. We have learnt tha r & d is a more secured way to the future hence fgfa with t-o-t and mca our home effort suffices our needs.

besides, US IS UNWILLING TO give the tech to israel, so fgfa is far far better for us.
F-35 may be considerd for IAC-2 . May be 1 or 2 sqadrons.

Besites, its not paf that is a threat to india. Mki + mmrca is more than enough to counter paf.
Its plaaf that worries india which is 3 times iaf. So we need gen 5 figher not for paf atlest till 2030.

If India can purchase F-35 and side with the US, Indian won't need to have tech transfer from the US because the US would sell weapons to India an protect India at any time.

1) Believe me cost is not an issue for India

2) Trials have already begun for FGFA

3) China is not aboard the FGFA program due to its shamefull "copy-guy" reputation

China would not care if US sell weapon to India. Its primary concern is still Taiwan. Look how big of a deal China makes when US decide to sell weapon to Taiwan, they shot down a missile. I do not think China even care when US sell planes before to India. china won't care if US sell f-35. For China, the situation between China, Taiwan and US is totally in a different scale vs China, Pakistan and India relationship.
