Featured US sixth gen fighter making rapid progress, to enter service by end of decade

I'm interested to hear about the late model F-16s the USAF will have. New models or some new upgrade package coming?

Rather it was made to illustrate the significant progress Chinese military modernization has made.

Enough so to make the USAF react in such a way.

Nothing to do with China.
The F-22 is expensive to operate and with production capped we never reached the economies of scale to continue operating the F-22 as originally intended.

Why are they phasing out the F-22?
I read somewhere that F22 is more than enough and more sophisticated than any current aerial threat from adversaries. It's too good for now. That's why produced in limited numbers

It's no good compared to J-20.

J-20 really surprised Americans. They did not expect such an advanced jet in China so quickly. The expected some time in the 2030s to 2040s time frame instead of 2010s time frame. Also, I think China is currently well ahead in 6th gen development and it will be even bigger surprise for the Americans in the next few years.

US just wanted to keep it's platforms updated and ahead of others.. stop claiming nonsense.. they introduced F 22 decades ago.. you are talking about J 20 after 2 decades... F 22 is far ahead of any fighters across the world..

Skyborg has a lift fan?
Click on the link. No it doesn't have a lift fan.
What about future of f18

Block 3 F-18 is coming in.
F-22 does not use modern technology and computers like F-35.

This sixth gen fighter is basically an F-22 with the modern technology present in the F-35.

It is completely overkill and will be like something out of a sci fi movie. Even the "old" F-22 is more than enough for any plane on this earth for the next 15 years. In fact it is so ahead of its time most of this decades old fighter is still highly classified.

Even if its considered overkill, the USAF's priority is superiority. Always stay ahead.

J-20 is far superior to F-22A. In terms of aerodynamics, avionics, network fusion. F-22A is early 2000 tech. J-20 is 2010s tech. The only chance F-22 had is if they develop F-22B which never materialized.

Its produced in limited numbers because they cut production just after the end of the Cold War. Its like the Seawolf class submarines. Cut the numbers down because it was too expensive.

Just as in the smartphone world. If you become complacent, you lose out. Which is the reason no Japanese smartphone maker makes it into top 10 and no American smartphone maker makes it into top 3. F-22A was ahead of its time but after years of stagnation J-20 is now on top of the world.

Right even with the constant upgrades to the F-22.

They cut the Seawolf, but introduced the Virginia class submarines. Far ahead in terms on some fields. Same for the F-35. Far ahead in terms of sensors and avionics compare to the F-22.

Virginia is good but no match for Yasen. Yasen M is a beast. Only 64 crew and packs a shit load of missiles.

The reason the U.S. crew is larger is to accommodate handling 24 hour shifts running the submarine and more preferable damage control in case something happens. And the Virginia Block 5 will have 40 missiles, even possible hypersonic missiles.
