India is sitting on Half Trillion $$ in Foreign exchange Reserves Tonight

Great, have fun with all that money
But India is also a huge recipient of foreign aid, thanks to PDF tbh. So does this mean that India is basically using foreign international money to build itself up while savings alot of its own Rupees?

Modi did Trump a huge favor in April by filling up the US strategic reserves with Indian cash.
Win-Win for both, India gets cheap oil and Trump gets to help US producers on India's dime.

Pakistan on the other hand had no cash to leverage cheap oil for itself or use it to win influence.
Oh well, money talks!
and US isnt going to let India "rise" without India giving US a "portion" of its weapons purchases. over the next few decades that amount will be huge.

This is not useful at all. It includes external assets and liabilities by private citizens of a country. What is the point of it in this discussion?

And what do you think foreign exchange is ? all those billions are owned by indian government? is that you were thinking ?
Indian forex is low quality asset for india as most of it is foreign debt, foreign investment and represents assets owned by foreigners in india. Unlike china where forex is the money earned by hard working chinese exporters. the only positive think for india is its remittances.

Reported end of last month but the transaction happened in April.

One method for this is to expand storage of oil beyond India's shores. Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday told a news channel that India is looking to store some "low-priced" US oil in facilities in the US as India's own storage was full.

Gold is tradeable no doubt but nobody uses gold to import goods right genius,
Iran and other sanctioned countries do. US has created a large, "sanctioned club"...hmm...they will gang up more and more. Just saying that that is not an all or nothing rule..it happens in the world, just on a smaller scale. Gold is still money though tbh...

the reason why we could even dare to go for 3 month lockdown is our forex reserv fund.

Jio infocomm is not done yet. Microsoft/Google and another US fund are in negotiations. Expect 10 more billions from them.

Somebody needs to buy Vodafone-Idea. That company will go bankrupt otherwise.

A duopoly between Jio and Airtel is not good for India in the long run.
