One in four Americans 'doesn't know the Earth orbits the Sun' and only half believe in evolution

While 10/10 Americans believes that it has the moral authority to police the world. Well that happens when your military spending is more than what you spend on education. I believe there a lesson there for us Pakistanis...

Americans believe in natural selection and survival of the fittest but most dont believe that man came from bacteria and involved into a chimp then into modern day humans. Also the American public school system is very weak and people in the U.S don;t seem to put much importance on education like the immigrants do.

Also I wonder if the same questions were asked in another country what the results would be.

Karma= every action has equal and opposite reaction isnt that what newton laws of physics taught?

Spirit living inside a rock?rocks have atoms inside it carbon based, even humans are carbon based and have almost same atoms .
Atoms are alive with electrons, protons and neutrons spinning in their orbits when a electron gains energy it jumps orbit it is called ascendance to higher plane or moksha hinduism , when it loses energy it falls into lower orbit, we call them lower planes,
Once the atom collapses or merges with another it is called " Laya" which is collapse of universe.
Your big bang theory is also mentioned in Vedas, God created the world by saying ""Eko'ham, bahu syam," "I am one; let me be many,".
Earlier scientists believed plants felt no pain- nowadays research proves that they too feel pain and emotions and are as much living as other living beings.
We are open to criticism are you?
We accept many paths of thought can you accept anything different from yours?
Good...I would like to know why is it despite all these knowledge, it took the Western ways of the separation of religion and science in order to have all the scientific and technological advances we see today.

Karma is the same as Newtonian physics? Looks like the religionists got caught with their collective pants down and are now scrambling to interpret their religions to fit science.

But I doubt you would recognize that lesson. Your people are too busy listening to imams telling them how the Quran 'predicted' all these scientific and technological advances thousands of yrs ago and that the West 'owe' the Muslims...blah...blah...blah...And your people ate it up...

Funny how you can criticize US for this but got it wrong anyway...

Humans did not evolved from chimps. Now see if your supposedly 'superior' education in whatever country you came from can figure that out.

Far worse...But they do know how to reinterpret their religious beliefs to suit modern science.

I just want you to know that I have good intentions and I want the best for America. you know your self that the public schools are bad but mainly because of the environment at the schools and also because they dont emphasize practical skills that are needed for the work environment.

Today if you go to the amazon you can see humans and chimps living in the same environment. Why didn't the chimps evolve into humans? They are in the same environment and face the same challenges.

If a religion has to change its beliefs because they were proven false by science then it isn't a real religion.

Why chimpanzees did not evolved into humans?

Hhhhmmmm...The Amazon? Is that the Amazon jungle or the Amazon internet retailer?

But since I cannot go to the Amazon jungle, I will go to the Amazon retailer instead...

Amazon.com: Must read evolution Books

Take your pick, buddy, and find out why chimpanzees CANNOT evolve into humans.

And people laughs at US...

Can you explain by using the theory of evolution why some chimps in the Amazon evolved into humans and some did not instead of trying to be a smart ***?

Chimpanzees CANNOT and DID NOT evolved into humans.

Evolution: Frequently Asked Questions
1. Did we evolve from monkeys?
spacer.gif

Humans did not evolve from monkeys. Humans are more closely related to modern apes than to monkeys, but we didn't evolve from apes, either. Humans share a common ancestor with modern African apes, like gorillas and chimpanzees. Scientists believe this common ancestor existed 5 to 8 million years ago. Shortly thereafter, the species diverged into two separate lineages. One of these lineages ultimately evolved into gorillas and chimps, and the other evolved into early human ancestors called hominids.
The current evidences points to this divergent.

Funny...I do not see Indians using Hinduism to contribute to evolution. Must be that snake holding up the Earth thing...

Okay we agree then that humans didn't evolve from chimps. But it is very decieving how some scientists say humans didn't but then they say that humans have a common ape ancestor.

Can any Indian members here explain why, if Hinduism is sooooooo insightful, Hinduism was not even a smidgen of help in understanding human origin?

Dude , you are so defensive :enjoy::enjoy:

There are noobs everywhere , its just surprising in case of US as it has so high literacy rate and university stuff.

By the way relax :D

The theory of karma is you do good deeds you reap good things you do bad deeds you reap bad things.
Like every action (positive/good)action has equal and opposite (positive/good)reaction
every action(negative/bad)action has equal and opposite (negative/bad)reaction.
Example,You bombed libya, they bombed your embassy.
Al-qaeda bombed wto in 9/11 you bombed them in afghanisthan.
see karma at work here?
Likewise if you do good you will get good in return.
The knowledge was always there, its just that we don't have a blasphemy law, you can be anyone or think anything everything is accepted, you experiment and eventually find your own path which takes you to your destiny.
You want to be atheist fine be one, atheism is a big part, we question and are encouraged to question so that you learn for yourselves the truth.

Western approach is totally different, one should not question any thing related to monotheism its fixed and rigid written in stone ,unlike us which is like water which fits in the container its poured in.
.People were burnt for suggesting there were other planets In universe back in dark ages in europe, saner sense prevailed upon them and later they had to separate religion from science to achieve breakthroughs.
We don't have the need to separate religion from science since both knowledge ,science is also part of god .Where is the need for separation?

Nope...Just having fun at some people's intellectual inconsistency and watching them squirms.

Right...That mean some day when the scientist reached the top of the knowledge mountain, he will find the yogi, the imam, the buddha, the rabbi, and the priest already there.

Got it...

Majority of Indians and/or Hindus do not claim that Scientific theories have been predicted in hindu texts.

If you have a large enough sample, you are bound to end up with some supremacists.

The thing with philosophies are that they are so vague, often deliberately, and people with agendas could twist them as per their wish.

For example, i could write a 500 word essay as to how David hume's critique of Berkley's instrumentalism predicts quantum theory which would be factually correct but absolutely rubbish and a gross distortion.
