100% price escalation on Rafale fighter aircraft to Rs 1.75 lakh crore likely to dent IAF's strike c

I guess with 5 billion we can have 4 more production units for MKIs + 3 more production facilities for LCA.

LCA MK1 program cost was around 1.5 billion, why not give 5 billion for LCA MK2??:what:+ 5 billion for AMCA

Rest 15 billion can be used for other things useful.:p:

the figures must be in $ :what:

Thats right. Even Rafale was chosen because of lower bid... how come it costs more costly????

And why are people talking ordering more MKIs .

Havent we ordering more , inducting more , ordering more, inducting more as the production goes ...?????
The MKI order talk is utter horsesh!t- the IAF categorically ruled it out.

And the talk of price escalation has never been made official only "murmurs"/""rumours" from "unnamed sources"- it's all BS created by the nonsense Indian media.

Shouldn't cross 20 billion red line.Problem is pak fa too has run into problems that will take time,so we can't just say save money for pak fa.WE need SOMETHING asap to shore up the fleet.

Hahah, look at what the Indian media has done! First they pull out some cr@p about the PAK-FA/FGFA project and then compound it by this utter nonsense about the Rafale! Again- there is ZERO official confirmation of any of this. The PAK-FA/FGFA part is particularly shameful as it has been picked up and reported with glee by the international media.

I don't know if these a-holes who are writing this sh!t are being paid by those with vested interests or are just so useless and ignorant they are furthering the cause of them indadvertedly.

Even if we sign by 2014 , the air-crafts will be arriving by late 2015-2016 or later.

There is no ASAP.

If the contract is signed soon, it will be nothing but a paper deal that ensures commitment of the government. We can expect delays after the first 18 aircraft, since the remaining fighters will be built under license with transfer of technology. The government will want to ensure that the contract is penned so that the [basic choice] cannot be questioned by subsequent governments and they (present politicians, business houses) gets most out of the deal.

But mate, look at the M2k upgrade deal, it is costing us USD$42 Mil per plane, without weapon price. There were no good justification for the that price too till now.

What's that got to do with anything?

And there IS justification for that price-that's why it went through!

The same way, there will be justification for Rafale too for even 30B.

But wasn't pak fa issue a statement from the IAF itself?
