Downed Indian Wg Cdr from 27th PAF-IAF aerial engagement promoted

Salaam

People saying it's shameful to be captured by the enemy are so strange.

Did the man not get on a fighter jet and meet the enemy in battle? It is immaterial whether he shot down or was shot down. He fought. Risked his life. Did his duty.

When he was captured, he carried himself honourably.

What else do people expect of a soldier?

Girte hain shahsawar hi maidan-e-jang mein
Wo tifl kyaa girega jo ghutnon ke bal chale

He deserves the awards he is getting. Wasn't John McCain also a pow? He was highly respected throughout his life and rightly so. Abhinandan was a good soldier who discharged his duty reasonably well.
Lol who is making fun of being IAF fighter pilot?
Fun starts when IAF claim be shot down f-16

fun starts when IAF lost air superiority

fun starts when IAF claims all the nonsense attached with this guy

anyways he enjoyed tea and is a busted bird

So no war was declared till December and Pervaiz was captured before war was declared?
No war was declared formally by either side, but we all know.... If you are supporting proxies against your enemy you are at war with them. Simple as that.

It was war.

The Indian Air Force has promoted war hero Wing Commander Abhinandan to the rank of Group Captain. Abhinandan is credited to have been the only Mig-21 pilot ever to have shot down an F-16.

He shot down the F-16 over Azad Kashmir, but was taken captive by the Pakistan Army after his plane was shot down by enemy forces.

However, he maintained his composure even in captivity, holding his head high.

Abhinandan’s unit 51 Squadron also received a unit citation for its role in thwarting the Pakistan Air Force’s aerial attack on February 27, 2019. India had carried out the strikes in response to a Jaish-e-Mohammed attack on a CRPF convoy.

i like IAF would love to work there.. se
he hasn't said anything precisely because he's still on active duty but banday ka future set hai, a huge book and movie contract awaits.

there was also John McCain, who, despite his politics, was a much celebrated war hero in the US

a very Trumpian critique of this most brave airman, all this "I don't like people who got captured" or whatever he said :sarcastic:

he didnt say becos perhaps he is isnt a typical indian liar?

So he was captured before war was declared during some tense moments when fire was being exchanged. Basically on the verge of formal war.

No. War was already being fought. Like i said, december was the formal declaration of war. The months before was an informal declaration of war

Both were during preludes to war. I am sure the Mehdi gulped down lots of tea, was given clothes - no record of him being used a laborer to build the Kanpur Delhi highway like the other Pak PoWs - but happy to be corrected if wrong. He was duly returned 18 months later like Usman Fuckruddin.
Troll to your hearts content so don't complain afterwards.
What war did exactly take place after Abhinandan was shot down......he was rescued from a hostile crowd and returned a few days later, had there been a war, he would have also been making tea in some POW camp rather than just enjoying hospitality.....as for clothes, this is just normal, these Sikh IAF pilots obviously wore helmets when flying missions in 1971 war but Pakistani authorities keeping their religious sentiments in mind provided them with their Turbans.
BTW, talking about some being promoted like heroes while others being treated like Zeros, poor Nachiketa had to be handed over to the Red Cross as unlike Abhinandan, no one from Indian Embassy came to receive him.

Pakistan, Lyalpur camp, 12 April 1972, visit to Indian prisoners of war (POWs).
"Sikh pilots, now POWs, passed their time flying kites. Camp authorities forbade this activity. An "homme de confiance", also a POW, explains the visit of Red Cross delegates, emphasizing that he hopes the ICRC can negotiate on their behalf the return of the kites.

I hope every Indian Pilot follows Abhi-none-done's example at least once in their life. :)
Promotion for what exactly?
He should be demoted to warrant officer (air men) for humiliating his country infront of the whole world.

It's just optics. I'm sure Indian air terror force don't treat him nicely since his return. His capture and tea break crushed their ego.

Also ask this clown that if PAF can't make a pilot who was shot down during a war its air chief then why did his airforce made someone an air vice marshal who gifted his perfectly working Gnat to Pakistan

I understand that it is good to be accepting and welcoming of POWs to enhance troop morale, but doesn’t giving awards to them send the wrong message to your soldiers?

This incident was in prelude to a full scale war hence he was kept a POW for 18 Months, where as Abhinandan was given a cup of Tea, a new suit and returned a few days later like Chandu Babu Lal.
You understand all that saying about stooping low to the level of a buffoon, since he can't come up to yours ? Don't dance on his tunes. He is here to fulfill a certain agenda.
Indian officer was being nice and professional. Who knows how much Mehdi cried and screamed?
If you assume or talk about Pakistani Armed Forces personnel in degrading manner, you will be reported and banned.
