Pakistan: Indian Weapons trucks seized

Islamabad, 9 Dec. (AKI) - Pakistani authorities on Wednesday seized at least four trucks in Islamabad laden with weapons and ammunition, the country's interior minister Rehman Malik said on Wednesday.

Malik's claims comes days after he had said that a large cache of Indian-made weapons were seized in the Bara area of the Khyber Agency bordering Afghanistan.

"Pakistan has solid evidence about India’s involvement in fomenting unrest in Pakistan and the evidence has been provided to the foreign office to take it up with New Delhi," Pakistan's interior minister Rehman Malik said at a media conference.

Malik added that the confiscation of the India-made arms from the Bara area in Khyber, was evidence of Indian involvement in Pakistan.

On Wednesday, Pakistan's chief minister Shahbaz Sharif in the province of Punjab said that India was conspiring to destabilise the country as he toured the Sheikh Zayed and Jinnah hospitals to see victims of Monday's bomb blasts in Lahore.

Police said 48 people had died in the bombings and another 100 were injured when the Lahore market was targeted in a suicide attack on Monday.

Sharif also claimed that there was solid evidence that India is involved in terrorist attacks across the country, and creating unrest in the southwestern province of Baluchistan and supporting militants in Waziristan.
