What's new

India must stand by Dalai Lama

how ironic hindustanys talk about freedom of Tibet and aid and abet in it while they occupy Kashmir and subdue the population there; like what's going on in Sri Nagar past few days

what a bunch of opportunists; hindustan as well as D.L.

''his holiness''' :lol::lol::lol::lol:

We take great pride in our history of sheltering, protecting the oppressed and the weak, no matter the cost. We firmly believe that in the end, truth alone triumphs (the national motto) and we remember how we were oppressed under the foreign rulers who invaded, ruled and exploited our peaceful lands until we were reduced to begging bowls. Athithi Devo Bhava (Guest is god)

wow, u ALMOST had me convinced for a second there :lol::lol:

When people are occupied. They are not allowed to protest or even shout out loud about there frustration.

Oppressed people aren't allowed to throw stones as a pass time at age of 13.

Oppressed people are not even allowed to have children until there oppressers tell to do so.......

Oppression is in your eyes only 24/7

India has always been welcoming any people in distress and seeking a home away from home. Starting thousands of years. Be it the Jews , the Persians who had to run away from Islamic atrocities , the Tibetans from Chinese atrocities . Anyone and everyone gets an asylum in India .

The Persians arrived in 936AD or in 716AD .
The Cochin Jews arrived in India 2,500 years ago and settled down in Cochin, Kerala as traders. The Bene Israel arrived in the state of Maharashtra 2,100 years ago. The Baghdadi Jews arrived in the city Mumbai from Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan, and Arab countries about 250 years ago. The Bnei Menashe are Mizo and Kuki tribesmen in Manipur and Mizoram who claim descent from the tribe of Manasseh.
The Bene Ephraim (also called "Telugu Jews") are a small group who speak Telugu..

there are Sri Lankans, Nepalis, Burmese, Bangladeshis everyone finding shelter in India.

Destroying live and livelihood is easy but providing shelter to people who has no place to go or fear of getting killed is another thing. India will benefit from every community it welcomes. The next generation Persian Indians are contributing in business and entrepreneurship (TATA, Godrej, Wadia etc) , Tibetans are great artists and craftsman, Nepalis are known for their honesty and bravery etc.

Dalai lama is more than politics to ordinary Indian people. He is an avatar of god and India is lucky to have him for so long.
God give him a long life.

Military power and domination is a temporary thing. It runs in a cycle. Power comes and goes. Non of the great empires like the Romans, Napoleon, etc ever existed more than a few centuries. What stays are the spiritual empires. They stay for thousands of years. India understands its importance specially being the birthplace of several religions and beliefs.

Islamic atrocities??

as for asylum in india, i wish you'd take care of yourselves first then worry about giving asylum to others. Look at your caste-system.

so what's in store for your country, considering it likes to play the role as regional bully (though such tactics traditionally have never worked on us your neighbour).

if what you say is true, then im sorry things didnt work out or transpire so well as far as equality and religious freedom are concerned, especially pre 1947 :chilli:

Thats the difference between our countries..you always think about the store and what do you get back..? (Afghanistan rings a bell..?)

He is 75 years old and he is being used as a pawn in a game of cat-and-mouse between China/Pakistan vs. India/USA.

I'm sure he lives comfortably... but if it was me, I would just like a peaceful life when I am 75 years old and not have to worry about such political problems.

im not worried; i was however pointing out something

What about AHMADIs and SHIAs..who are muslims and even then whats their position..?care to shed some light...

Ahmedis -- I view them as Muslims and I'll say it out loud and without fear. As humans, we are not fit to determine who is and who isnt Muslim.

As for Shiias -- well sir, I myself am of Shiia Muslim background. What do you mean by what is our position?

the founder of this country was also a Shiia; Prime Minister is a Shiia.

I dont believe in the whole viewing of things on Sunni-Sufi-Shiia-Wahhaby lens. Muslims are Muslims, it's all that really matters I think.

how is he viewed in the Chinese street.....

The average Chinese person does not like the Dalai Lama or the Indian government.

Personally, I think he is an old man... and he should be allowed to live out the rest of his life in peace and quiet without political problems.
