Indian conventional superiority a myth?

Not at all don't underestimate them this was just one incident Pak seemed to get the better of them -India definitely does has conventional and numerical superiority and they are on the warpath that's one of the reasons why Pak got nuclear weapons. Better to stay alert and prepared than get too comfy.

That's my understanding. But, with some significant caveats.
In a 'defensive' war, Pakistan is more than a match. This points gets hammered in by Musharraf repeatedly. In an offensive war--no, Pakistan is not a match.

As to the shooting down of the two Indian planes--and, yes, there were two: Even NY Times has a pic of an Indian down aircraft in IoK with people watching on--the incidents happened because Indian pilots fell into Pakistan's trap. The trap that Pakistan had avoided barely few hours ago by not pursuing intruding Indian places, Indians fell into a similar one. Call it hubris or overconfidence or incompetence.
So both MIG 21 and SU 30 took the hits. But SU 30, being a superior aircraft, made it back across the LoC...then fell. There's a You Tube video by a Pakistan guy which explains as to why SU 30 was able to take the hit and still limped on while MIG 21 couldn't.

In 1965 we had alot of Indian Terrirotory in our control. In 1999 it took thousands of Indian soldiers to fight a few hundreds of ours on the mountain tops.

Here they waited for 13 days and ended up with botching their raid and not hitting the targets. We responded within 24 hours and went inside in broad day light. Pakistan is more than a match even when being an aggressor.

So PAF decisively defeats the IAF that came with SU-30MKIs with just JF-17s.

Looks like the JF-17 is a bit better than we thought and the Su-30MKI is not as good as imagined.

Indians will now be worried that even the Rafale will not help them as the PAF will just use the JF-17 Block 3 against it. Block 3 will introduce AESA radar, more powerful engine and will surely get the new PL-10 WVR and PL-15 BVR AAMs.

Does what happened on the 27th of February totally change the conventional calculus between India and Pakistan?

Man behind the machine is matters too. Our Pilots go through a much more vigorous training to outsmart them. Here their planes fell right into our trap.

You know what these days the problem is that every tom,dick and harry on internet use google and later assumes that now he/she is a expert and analyst on defence matters.All the information in theoretical form does not represent a clear and full picture.It may overall present a jet look more efficient and effective but it,s only the pilot of a aviation expert who gets the real picture.So yes you are right the answers on quora and on defence forums made SU30 mki like a god jet.
PAF just like any other airforce is a professional airforce and definitely well aware of the capabilities of its main rival IAF.So PAF ensures its survival and deterrence by only selecting those jets which can compete with all existing jets of IAF.They had faith in JF17 block 2 and now they know rafale is coming so they are developing JF17 block 3 in complete faith.Yes we do have multirole light weight fighter jets but with a good pilot training they can give tough time to air superiority twin engine fifth gen jets like Su30.Just like musharaff once said we said defeat huge indian army with superior tactics and strategy even if we have a one third comparable force.
