'Mujib: The Making of a Nation' releases today in 200 halls

I hope Mujib biopic would present the correct history of our liberation war. People from all walks of life had contributed to our freedom struggle. It was not a one man show. The whole nation fought against the Pakistani army and they deserve recognition.

Bunch of extremist rag tag insecure ethnofascist would never have succeeded lest for Indian military power.

Does the biopic show scores of people torching Pakistani flags or stomping away the constitution?

How does the biopic end? Do they show how Mujib and his family were found the next day?

I haven't seen it except the trailer.

I am sure this is just another propaganda film with the sob-sister story - boo freakin' hoo, pull out the hankie and do some RR.

Like anyone cares in Bangladesh. Everyone is up on Hasina's games now.

Indian military intervention occurred in December but the freedom fighters of Bangladesh were engaged in a war with the Pakistani army since March. In this war, our freedom fighters played the key role and the Indian army was just a supporting force.

I don't think Shyam Benegal (the Indian movie producer) would go that far. The point is to paint Pakistan Army (i.e. Yahya Khan) as the oppressor - to elicit a tug at the heart strings.

Bengalis would be shown as the "silent sufferers", the oppressed.

Indian military offensive was an escalation as Pakistan and India were battling out a guerilla war in Urban Bengal.

Freedom from what? objective resolution of 1951 or Pakistan resolution of 1940.

You people are provoking some unwanted attention.

Mujib and IK are terrorists who work against the state of Pakistan.

Oh yes of course, the usual mantra of Army arse-lickers and Army Personnel calling ordinary Pakistanis as traitors. These jahil army Pandoos repeat the same script over and over again.

That would be Hasina seeking attention, no one in Bangladesh cares really. Just her garbage propaganda.

If it's just Hasina, it's ok then. She was born a Pakistani. Pakistani women don't know mercy nor they quit. Pakistan can tolerate her shenanigans, question is can Bangladeshis? I wonder what would it be like if you people finally have someone born after 71 at the helm.

never in my wildest dreams had I ever even thought that this day would come
a day when there would be a yawning chasm between the Army and the Pakistani populace

It took around 50 years for the remaining Pakistan to see what actually happened in 1971.
There was no general revolt against the state of Pakistan in Bengal. India orchestrated guerrilla warfare and overran Bengali territories of Pakistan in a cleverly designed hybrid war.

Bring him back and i can reason with him. His opinion is not set in stone. However country's policy on it is however carved in stone in many buildings across Pakistan.

No need to bring him back. 99.99% of Pakistanis think like him. If a PDF poll on Pak-Bangla reunion is started all Pakistani members will vote against it.

Mujib has a huge respect in Pakistan too. He has gained his due respect in recent times in pak. So it's good that someone made a movie on him.
