You do know that Pakistan has been 'messing' with the dad since 2001? The second after Musharraf told America "We are with you" and hung up the fone, he immediately called GHQ and ISI HQ and told them to dust off the ol' proxy manual that was used against the Soviets (you do recall what happened to them don't you? You know, the Soviet Union, the nation that made the dad piss his pants many times during the cold war) update it and now use it against the 'dad'.
Here is some reality check for you:
Let me finish on a positive note. Notwithstanding all I have said, on balance the CIA's contributions have played a vital role in the conduct of the Afghan Jehad. Without the backing of the US and Saudi Arabia the Soviets would still be entrenched in that Country. Without the intelligence provided by the CIA many battles would have been lost, and without the CIA's training of our Pakistani instructors the Mujahideen would have been fearfully ill-equipped to face, and ultimately defeat, a superpower.

Pakistan was very vulnerable in 2001. That statement from Richard Armitage shook the Pakistani military leadership to the core. What are you babbling about? Maybe common man had no idea about the gravity of the situation but Musharraf probably had some sleepless nights.
Ofcourse, poor innocent Americans did not have an inkling of desi mentality. It took them 10 years, and after burying many, many American soldiers torn and shredded bodies to finally figure out what every Pakistani (and I dare say many Indians) had known from Sept 12, 2001: Pakistan had been playing a double game in the War on 'Terror'. The very 'Aid Money' America had been giving Pakistan had been used to fund weapons and trainings for the Taliban and the Haqqanis which they then used to slaughter NATO forces enmasse. Imagine the massive facepalm at the pentagon, CIA and STRATCOM when they finally figured it out.
US knows how to play double-game too. 35000 Pakistani dead in result. Do the math. Keep on playing the double-game and more will die in Pakistan.
And not to forget the humiliation of Operation Neptune Spear.
The Haqqani's are a creation of the ISI, just like the Taliban were. Together, they have made an impressive kill count of NATO. And this party is just getting warmed up. America is scrabbling desperately to leave (they don't even call Taliban the enemy anymore...within a few years they will start calling them friends I assure you) while for the battlehardened Afghans the war is just entering it's most interesting and 'fun' phase, where one can rackett up his kill count pretty high. Afghans can't afford consoles or even a subscription to STEAM; killing NATO soldiers is their version of 'Achievements'
Impressive kill count of NATO? Seriously?
Do you know that how many Afghans and Taliban have died since 2001?
Around 2000 Taliban were slaughtered in Dasht-e-Leili incident alone in 2001. God knows what else has happened during the whole decade.
War is ugly business, dude!

As far as this thread is concerned, let us keep in mind that their are extremists in both camps. It is stupid to assume that Israeli threat perception does not involves Iran and Pakistan. Both of these nations do not recognize the existence of Israel. And Iran has openly called for annihilation of Israel.
To be honest, I wish for enmity between Asian nations to end. I also believe in diplomatic relationship with Israel. Pakistan is not a thekedar of Islamic issues worldwide. This nation has enough problems of its own.
