Told you guys they weren't gonna let that balloon go. We didn't want to shoot it down over land becoz it would create a large field of debris... blah blah blah! More like we didn't want it to smash into smithereens hitting the ground.

THIS from the same country that copied Hong Kong and made STAR WARS fictional movies out of the works they copied. Now, the same genious minds thought China made a better weather balloon than them, that Y they spent all that effort to salvage it!

China claims second suspected spy balloon over Latin America was also lost

Lots of lost balloons popping up here and there... Lonely and adrift...

It should be no fun to be a balloon these days...

On the question of why China would commit the brazen spying that the U.S. claims, Biden said only that “they’re the Chinese government.”

VanHerck said the balloon was a “maneuverable platform,” and the administration gained a better sense of what it could do during the time it moved across the U.S.

He said China used the balloon’s “maneuverability to strategically position themselves to utilize the winds to traverse portions of countries that they want to see. But this gave us the opportunity to assess what they were actually doing, what kind of capabilities existed on the balloon, what kind of transmission capabilities existed.”

The latest information only deepened the administration’s conviction that the balloon wasn’t “mainly” a weather-monitoring device as Chinese officials have claimed. In a briefing Monday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning repeated China’s assertion that the balloon that passed over U.S. territory last week was an “isolated incident.”

...

Are you kidding me? China is angry because their spy balloon entered another country and it was shot down?

I think they just like to loudly complain about everything :-)

this is 2020 pic

We shot down and fished out one of your balloons in 2020 too?
How come China didn't complain?

Breaking News: China sends spy balloons over military sites worldwide, U.S. officials say

China’s spy balloons are part of an effort to assess the military capabilities of countries around the world, U.S. officials say.

The balloons have some advantages over the satellites that orbit the earth in regular patterns. They fly closer to earth and can evade radar.

Chinese Balloon Had Tools to Collect Electronic Communications, U.S. Says

China’s surveillance balloons have flown over more than 40 countries and are directed by the Chinese military, the State Department said. The F.B.I. is studying debris.

ohhh boy....now we'll know what 'meterolical balloon' really has
Some info has already been released thru Pentagon

In case you are too busy to watch the video.

  1. This is a Spy Balloon equipped with high power antenna for SIGINT operation (Just as I predicted)
  2. U-2 Spy plane has been following the Balloon and taking picture and getting "match" on the balloon during flight.
  3. No Meterological equipment were found (does not mean there aren't any, just that they can't find them yet) on the wreckage so far.

I wonder what made them think it will not be shot down. I refuse to believe that 'they just wanted to f*** with the US and sent it knowing fully well it will be shot down. There are so many of them they have sent around the world. Maybe they under estimated the ability of the US to track these things.

Well, not saying that is my opinion, but had a chat with my lawyer wife who practice international law.

She said the reason why China said it was a weather balloon and insist it was so thought out is that there is a clause in ICAO law stated that it is considered an act of war to shoot down civilian craft (It specify light craft such as balloon) that drifted into another nation airspace, so by claiming it was a weather balloon and US using force on downing the balloon is US committing an act of war on China.

But then it was her opinion that this is not a light civilian craft if the balloon is 90 ft in length.......

What a comedy. I enjoyed the triggered Democrats thoroughly. Nothing else to say.
