Russians Discuss Future Aircraft Carrier Plans, Eyeing India

We should be open to entering into a JV with the Russians, provided the construction of the hull and integration happens in India. Co-operation in the deisgn of nuclear propulsion systems will speed up the process. Anyways, no other country will provide this expertise, except the Russians. Also, we have not built any CATBOR based systems. Do we trust the Americans or Russions? Its a no-brainer.

IAC -1 construction will provide invaluable expertise to our shipyards. Save time of nuclear propulsion and CATOBAR systems by co-operating with the Russians.

In one side India is facing famine and on the verge of loosing a part of their population and livestock and in another side they are discussing aircraft carrier. Very sad.

In my opinion Sevmash is blabbering right now because our dream project has been delayed many times(please no more excuses.) If they want to collaborate,India should make a dedicated wing for aircraft construction & they can help us here right in India in many ways. Now India is on the path of indigenous capability. Our next priority should be to build our ships within time frame with no quality mismatches. Next step can be to bring accountability in monetary terms mean if project is delayed they will have to pay penalty even it is government owned shipyard.
