Separatists blame India and condemn Sopore killings.

Militants and separatists on Wednesday condemned the killing of two sisters in Sopore district by unidentified gunmen on Monday evening and criticised Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah for taking a dig at them for their “muted response” earlier. “It’s a heinous and barbaric act. The gruesome incident has shocked the United Jehad Council (UJC) leadership. This seems to be the handiwork of Indian agencies,” said Syed Sadqat Hussain, Kashmir based spokesman of the UJC, a conglomerate of militants’ outfits active in Kashmir.

Syed Salahuddin, the chief of Hizbul Mujahideen, heads the UJC. Syed Ali Shah Geelani, chairman of the hardline faction of Hurriyat Conference, who is in New Delhi for medical treatment, also issued a statement condemning the killing of the sisters.

“The incident is the handiwork of the enemies of the Kashmir liberation movement… India has been hell bent on defaming the just struggle of the Kashmiri people and the Sopore killings are also a part of the same nefarious design,” said Geelani, 82.

Hurriyat leaders from moderate faction, including Shabbir Ahmad Shah and Nayeem Ahmad Khan, demanded an inquiry into the killings. The spokesman of moderate Hurriyat group, headed by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, said: “Such abominable acts of violence, whoever commits it, is denounced by the Hurriyat.

Such acts should be condemned at every level.” The spokesman lashed out at Abdullah for his jibe and said, “We condemn all innocent killings.

Those who have their hands red should not issue statements asking for condemnation of such acts.” Suspected militants took away the sisters, Akhtara, 19, and Arifa, 17, from their home in Chinkipora, 55 km north of Srinagar, and shot them. The police blame the Lashkar-eTayyeba for the killings.

That settles the matter.There seems to be lot of false propaganda being created bu GOI to defame the genuine freedom movement like that of stone pelting kids being paid and this incident.this can be handiwork of indian security forces in the disguise of freedom fighters in order to defame them.But kashmiri public is not fool that they will believe in indian propaganda.

Sikhs Demand Fresh Probe into Chattisinghpora Massacre​

Sikhs in large number today thronged Chitisinghpura in Anantnag and demanded a fresh probe into the massacre of 35 members of their community there ten years ago during the visit of then U S President Bill Clinton to India.

"We urge the government to conduct fresh probe into the killings of the Sikhs," All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) coordinator Jagmohan Singh Raina said during a condolence meet at the village, about 70 kms from here.

The meet was organised to pay homage to the victims who fell to the bullets of unidentified persons during the intervening night of March 20-21 in 2000.

Five days after the massacre, the police and the Army had claimed to have killed five "terrorists" involved in the killings at nearby Pathribal, but it later turned out that the deceased were civilians and were killed in a "fake encounter," he said.

An inquiry into the incident was ordered after residents of Brackpora staged demonstrations and during one such demonstration, police and CRPF opened fire killing eight protestors on April 3, 2000.

The CBI gave a clean chit to the state police in the massacre case but filed chargesheets against five army officers.

Later, the Supreme Court stayed till further orders the criminal trial against the five officers.

"It is the responsibility of the state government and the Centre to restore the shaken confidence of the Sikh community and if they failed to do so then it will be a huge injustice with us," Raina said while pressing for the fresh probe into the massacre and subsequent incidents.

Anyway I will give another 10 years for some separatist leader to grow his pair and then come out with the truth like what Abdul Gani Bhat did recently when he confessed three top pro-independence separatists were killed by pro-pakistan militants for not toeing the line of Islamabad.
