What's new

India again asks Pakistan to waive off the fee for pilgrims

IK better not cave in to appease the liberal idiots.

Typically the cost is $100-$150 for visa fees, if there is no Free Trade Agreement
in place

$20 was quite generous from Pakistan's Side
Cost of Burger
  • Cost goes towards building roads , and improving security

Meh. Do you realize that Kashmir is not part of Pakistan even after 3 wars with GD is only bcoz of those so called "Khalistani" soldiers in GD army

Because Pakistan never properly played khalistani game yet with bharti terrorists. In late Zia era it was started but during benazir era, it was given up in hope of peace.

Damn its only $20 Dollars!!!
it should at least be $100

That would be a dumb decision from a financial perspective. The aim for you I believe is to maximize profit. Making it harder for people to visit by charging them an amount as much as normal visa fees defeats the purpose of the corridor itself, which was to allow a large number of pilgrims to visit, earn some goodwill and last but surely not the least, make some money off them. Would you rather have 100 people/day visiting paying 100$ or 5000 per day paying $20? This is a temple that the Sikhs would like to visit repeatedly, like at every major festival. Charge them $100, they will probably visit it once and call it a day. Charge $20 and a lot more will visit, that too several times. Maybe $20 is indeed low, but $100 is ridiculous, the corridor will be empty.

They should add a zero every time endians asks to lower it.

That would remove 2 zeros from the total number of daily visitors, so 50 instead of 5000, eventually no one wins.

Suna hai tumhara prime minister bhi haj ki subsidy leta hai?
Govt of Pakistan used to give subsidy to hajjis but now it has been reduced... But the key is Govt Pakistani giving the subsidy to the hajjis...so if govt of India want to give her citizens subsidy, we have no problem but stop begging for fee reduction from Pakistan... Supa pawa bano,,, bhikario

Pakistan has invested heavily in this project including valuable agricultural land, construction of roads, other facilities, security systems and above all a recurring cost for the personnel to administer and monitor the facilities. Just like all Muslims pay a fee for the pilgrimage to Mecca, all Indians coming to visit this site must pay a visa fee to enter Pakistan as well as the entry fee to enter the site. and the Fee must be in US$ to help our foreign reserves.

Pakistani government shouldn't waive off fee for these guys

If 5000 Sikh Pilgrims visit each day, it will accumulate $100,000 / day and $1 million in 10 days. In a year, that makes $35 million USD. That is the maximum money India would end up spending.

Maintaining KartarPur facilities is going to come at a cost and the accumulated money will be spent back on Sikh Pilgrims. This is not a money-making initiative. Pakitan has offered access to this holy place with good intentions and Hindu terrorists need to stop being themselves for the benefit of Sikh Pilgrims.

$20 is too low!

Consider the FTE costs of immigration, security and other infrastructure investment so far...

GoP is selling Pakistan too cheap...

At the minimum $50 per day per person!

Fees can be adjusted in the future. Kartarpur Servies are established in consultation with Sikh Leadership and they can make important decisions in fine-tuning the entry fee in the future.

One thing must be ensured that Sikh pilgrims receive respectful and comfortable experience during their stay in Pakitan. India, on the other hand, would want to sabotage the whole operation and may send his operatives in disguise to create problems for the visiting Sikh Pilgrims and mud-sling Paksitan. Paksitan will need a very high level of security and vigilance all across the facility to find and expose such people.

it should be 100$ per person. Pakistan should cash this fully.
don't you think Canadian and indian sikhs can pay 7117.57 Indian per head which is equal to 100$?
and these indian sikhs dont need costly airline tickets they can use busses to travel.
so Pakistan should not show any softness on this.india just dont want Pakistan to get any dollars otherwise there is no problem with paying to visit.

Another contribution towards the welfare of Sikhism can be Paksitan starts Sikh University and Khalsa Satellite Radio and Television Channel launched from the facility of Kartarpur.

Sikh Bazaar, Sikh Heritage Centre and Sikh Art and Craft Centres are other potential initiatives Pakitan can take. Pakitan should dedicate a 5-10Km square for the development of an even bigger facility. Let every Sikh pilgrim plant a tree in the memory of Baba G here in the facility and let them come to take care of their tree every year.

Indians are again twisting definitions and mocking Islamic concepts.

Jizya is a Military Exemption tax imposed on Non-Muslims, who also are exempt from paying Zakat which Muslims must pay.

Many Muslim empires actually taxed Muslims more heavily and made military conscription mandatory, which became a financial incentive for Non-Muslims to remain in their faith.

When I lived in the gulf, dealing with Indians was the worst.
They are the stingiest, most uncultured people I had to deal with.

This is not true.

It is important for Non Muslims to feel subdued.
