Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (L) speaks during an interview with Lebanese-based al-Manar TV on August 24, 2011.
Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has warned the Israeli regime against any military strikes against the Islamic Republic, insisting that it will gravely regret such moves.

“The bankrupt, uncivilized and criminal Zionist regime (Israel) wish to inflict losses on Iran but they know that Iran's response to any such efforts will be crushing and regrettable,” said President Ahmadinejad in an interview with Lebanese-based al-Manar TV on Wednesday.

Pointing to Iran's nuclear case, the president stated that the West's stance on the issue can be analyzed in line with objectives of the arrogant system, considering the ongoing developments in the region.

He noted that the Western position on Iran's nuclear case proved that they are opposed to any advancement made by Muslim countries.

Ahmadinejad also stated that arrogant powers did their utmost to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear country. Notwithstanding, Iran is a nuclear country now.

He warned Western powers that they are doomed to sustain yet another defeat if they persist with their previous misdeeds.

President Ahmadinejad also blasted the performance of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) regarding Iran's nuclear program and emphasized that although Iran carried out all its undertakings, the IAEA deprived the country of its legitimate rights as an IAEA member and prompted illegal sanctions against the country.

The Iranian chief executive insisted that the Islamic Republic will never give up its principles while it believes that the West must change its confrontational attitude into a cooperative one.

The United States and Israel have repeatedly threatened Tehran with the "option" of a military strike, based on the allegation that Iran's nuclear work may consist of a covert military agenda.

Iran insists that its nuclear program is entirely peaceful and within the framework of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, to which it is a signatory.

If I had a nickel for everytime Irani president boasted against Israel. Israel has no need to attack Iran.

Just want to earn Sympathy from Muslim countriers against Israel.

Yep and they certainly have. At least they got balls and dont have corrupt politicos like Zardari that are on the US payroll.

Every country should regrette attacking other countries for no good reason. Reattack is something that no one should regrette.

These statements are made with a lot of thought behind them. Iranians have been involved in diplomacy for many centuries and understand the nuances of such diplomacy. These statements are made to preempt and deter the other side. Israelis make similar statements about Iran's nuclear program being a threat to all and sundry. Point is that as long as it stays a war of words, its manageable. Beyond that it gets messy.

So when Ahmadinejad said that he is going to wipe Israel from face of the earth, we should consider this as an advance warning for future invasion?

Why are you so acute? Read the thread again and this time absorb what it says in particular
"Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has warned the Israeli regime against any military strikes against the Islamic Republic, insisting that it will gravely regret such moves."

so stop misquoting off this thread young man.

Well said President of Iran... Good diplomacy!

Keep them on the guard to open their mouth and create a case against your country..

As they say, attack is the best form of defence..

I must say Israelis are brave..they are surrounded By enemies on all sides with bigger landmass...But they can trash all of them at once..

Israel will always have US n Indian Support.... That's a undisputed fact

That is given. Though I think India will prefer no one fights. It doesn't have any ill will against Israel or Iran.

So you implying that India will support Israel against Iran? Might think that out again..

I am wondering what the next president of iran will be like.

Whoever he will be, he need mind his own business: the Iran people. He is the president of Iran, not the president of Palestinian or other countries or regions. Those are none of his business.

His business is for Iran people and to develop the country called Iran. His whole purpose to be there is to work for people in Iran, nobody else.

He should not confuse about what should be his priority.
