What's new

LCA Tejas Engines failed during high-altitude trials in Leh

at least these tejas are better than indian flying coffins :omghaha:

Chalo Chicha...Koi Nahin...For your satisfaction ....We are fail by doing something... You are failed by doing NOTHING...Like Sitting Duck....Always hoping that someone will give you something in the form of AID.

same old story with typical indian mentality   grow up kids

It is good news.In 1.5 yrs time we will be thinking of Pak-fa, MMRCA,AMCA.This Tejas is a dud.It has a American engine and Americans are prone to sanctionomania.Still to keep fanboys happy we will have about 100 of them and increase our indigenous technology for AMCA.The air force will not accept even the AMCA if Kaveri or another indigenous engine is not developed. They are not fools. They know that in the event of war Americans will not help with spares etc. and they will be left stranded.Russi/french maal have stood the test of time Which the backstabber Americans cant replicate.Again I repeat all non white countries who have tried to befriend America have landed up as their slaves.
Good Thinking IAF.:azn:

NESCOM Has made More Things than Your Failed DRDO
NECSOM has 5 times lesser Budget than DRDO
But NESCOM Doing better job than Unless DRDO

Really thats why PAk stop production of JF-17 , after producing 50 plane they realised that it a failed plane so better stopped it and it not producing from more then one year.

Life is boring, we need LCA alive!
First Test and then produce unlike JF-17 which produced first and then tested and found unfit so stop production after 50

I hope India get this plane ready soon. Even if it takes up to the year 2050 and its obsolete when its inducted, India should build this plane after all these years of working on it.

Yea, its better tested first then produce unlike china /PAK Jf-17 which produced first then tested and then they decided to stop production at all......:)) some people only make tall claims and then fall flat.

Where is your evidence that they ground the production? is it permanent or temporary?

Just scratch the project and work on something different...

Scraping the project is no answer, we are no America, Russia or for that matter even close to China. We have made mistakes, are making. And will make mistakes, in this process we have learnt a lot and will help us in the comming years and future projects.

well AFAIK F-16s, Gripen, F-18 and Mig-35 all failed at High altitude during MMRCA trails too. Anyway news is old and I am sure there won't be any more delay and it will be inducted on time ie next year end.

Talking to reporters, the IAF chief said the indigenous aircraft will have to be modified further for operating in high-altitude areas as recently during trials in Leh, its engine "did not work".
What's the problem? The LCA can't operate at Leh? Leh is at 10,000 ft whereas the service ceiling of the Tejas is 50,000 ft with the same engine! So what's the problem? Is it inadequate power-to-weight ratio for take off or poor lift coefficient whilst landing, translating to greater TO/landing speed on available length of the runway?

The LCA is constructed of aluminium-lithium alloys, carbon-fibre composites (C-FC), and titanium-alloy steels. The Tejas employs C-FC materials for up to 45% of its airframe by weight. Composites are used to make an aircraft both lighter and stronger at the same time compared to an all-metal design, and the LCA's percentage employment of C-FCs is one of the highest among contemporary aircraft of its class, making the plane much lighter.

But with a thrust/weight ratio of 1.07, it still can't operate at Leh? Or am I missing something here? By the way, the F-22 has a T/W ratio of 1.09. Not much difference.

In Rarified Atmosphere ATF JP-4/JP-6 is difficult to start engine.

Even mki engines failed for the first time so far I heard. They just need to modify little bit for take off and landing. Not a big issueat all.

I think this already been taken care

Tejas Winter Trials At Leh Last Month

So in Leh it flew without engine... :raise:

So it means delayed till 2020...

Really IAF is opening many options for EU like Grippen and Typhoon and delays in MCA is also opening chances of F-35s.... :)

Scrap this obsolete lca project that we are hearing since 1970's...admit that you can't do it...it is not apiece of cake building a flyable fighter jet...its not necessary that you have to compete with Pakistan in this field...instead of burning money go buy something useful or use it for reducing your poverty level of 65%.
