Could somebody actually enlighten me as to which particular war this "Mad Dog" has actually won?

"Diplomatic observers in Washington say that while the Americans accepted the Pakistani argument, they also emphasised the need for stopping cross-border attacks into Afghanistan from Pakistan’s tribal zone. Pakistan, however, pointed out that TTP and other militant outfits had also established safe havens inside Afghanistan and were using those to launch attacks into Pakistan.

The Indian media reported last week that US Secretary of Defence James Mattis had also discussed this issue with Indian officials. The report indicated that India was supporting groups like TTP to counter Pakistan-based groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and was unwilling to break its ties with Pakistani militant outfits
."

Let this sink in for a moment, the same TTP which was involved in most horrible act of terrorism against Pakistani citizens, such as APS attack, is supported by India.

This "mad dog" needs to be cured, Pakistani way.

a single more missile from kim jong un and US will be our friend again. they are changing the stance because they cant open more hot theaters for themselves. their terrorists have failed in syria. china in south china sea, rocket man in north korea and putin are already proving to be too much for uncle sam.

Do pakistan have any options?

If yes then pakistan already moved from but Chinese alone can't help.

Russia and India already have good relationship so i m not seeing much from Russia.

Reality is pakistan needs more good relationship with us then us needs pakistan

Since when RSS become expert on Pakistan US relations?

WASHINGTON – US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said on Tuesday the United States would try "one more time" to work with Pakistan in Afghanistan before President Donald Trump would turn to options to address Islamabad's alleged support for militant groups.

Relations between the two countries have been frayed over the past decade. While officials have long questioned the role Pakistan has played in Afghanistan, the comments by Mattis are likely to cause concern in Islamabad and within the Pakistan military.

It is clear to me that the ISI has connections with terrorist groups.

Gen. Joseph Dunford, Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, US

"We need to try one more time to make this strategy work with them, by, with and through the Pakistanis, and if our best efforts fail, the president is prepared to take whatever steps are necessary," Mattis said at a House Armed Services Committee hearing.

Mattis added that he would be traveling to Islamabad soon, but did not give more details.

Reuters first reported that possible Trump administration responses being discussed include expanding US drone strikes and perhaps eventually downgrading Pakistan’s status as a major non-NATO ally.

When asked by a lawmaker whether revoking Pakistan's major non-NATO ally status was amongst the options being considered to deal with Islamabad, Mattis said: "I am sure it will be."

In a separate Senate hearing on Tuesday, the top US military officer said he believed Pakistan's main spy agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) directorate, had ties to militant groups.

“It is clear to me that the ISI has connections with terrorist groups,” Marine Corps General Joseph Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told the Senate Armed Services Committee.

The Pakistan embassy in Washington said Islamabad had achieved success in counter-terrorism operations in its country.

"However, unless the same level of success is achieved in (Afghanistan), long-lasting peace in the region will remain out of reach," the embassy said in a statement.

The United States in 2012 designated the Pakistan-based Haqqani network as a terrorist organization. The year before, US Navy Admiral Mike Mullen, then the top US military officer, caused a stir when he told Congress that the Haqqani network was a “veritable arm” of the ISI directorate.

US officials have told Reuters that the United States will send about 3,500 additional troops to Afghanistan.

Dunford said that the current cost for the United States in Afghanistan was about US$12.5 billion a year, and the new strategy would cost an additional US$1.1 billion.

Ahh Pentagon boys Ahh!!! If changing the tango partners were that easy to begin with!!! Human beings understand best through differential treatment. The Hindi/RSS/Hidutuva boys provided the other part with receiving that solitary "Kung-fu" kick!!!! You can't buy out the likes of the Pindi boys at the street corners!!! They are the products of hundreds of years of Imperial reflexes accumulated at the DNA...

We will try to work with USA if USA do more .. Take out ttp and juA leadership or hand them over to us than we'll talk .
Now, they will negotiate!!! For the alternatives are dead dreadful....

It's time you do more in Afg Mr Mattis stop crying like a kid and blaming others for your failures. You didn't lost that 40% territory because of us.

If "doing more" is that easy in Afganistan, wouldn't Alexander/British/USSR have done that?????

Unless India and Afghanistan join forces to attack Pakistan on behalf of the USA, Uncle Sam can't do jacksquat to Pakistan
Joining India and NA thugs will be a thing to watch!!! I think ANA thug officers are all trained in the Indian academies. The results are there to see!!!!

Let me cite a historical example from BD. After being separated, BD proxy traitor leadership raised a para-military force to protect them. It was entirely trained and armed by India and drew members from the most loyal folks. 3K of them were employed to protect Mujib alone. Now, few BD officers - 13 Major/Captains and a platoon with 3 tanks without any shells to be precise - revolted against Mujib and killed him and his cohorts en masse. Needless to say, they all were once members of the Pak Ordu. Seeing a solitary tank those 3K India trained BD para military surrendered at once without firing a single shot!!! Moreover, they switched the side to join the rebels....

Too poignant and apt description, crux of the complex, gist of the game. And the hyphenation of 'Pentagon boys' and 'Pindi boys' is just too creative.

US need a new bedfellow, however strange it might turned out to be.
