Teenage superstar Eileen Gu stuns America with defection to China

Yes, it's a big emigration country. People are running away as fast as the planes can fly them out.

If this was happening with any other nation you'd be quick to call them a failed state.

Look at all the millions of people jumping on a plane trying to get out.
Chinese net migration rate for 2021 is 4 times that of Afghanistan

Net migration rate

Of course Chinese Govt could be counting those trafficked outside China as emigrants

Sure, maybe like that.

If 10 million people left China and those authors stayed I'd still tend to call it a failed state. This is multiple stadiums full of people getting up and leaving. I doubt those papers are helping any of them want to stay.
US now is indeed a failed state, even many Americans admit. China has 1.4 billion people and Chinese people moved to everywhere for hundreds of years, over 100 million Chinese live overseas, Chinese population make up a big chunk of the total population in many south eastern Asian countries, most Singaporeans are of Chinese origin. You really should educate yourself a bit.
Besides, though China doesn't allow immigrants, but there are exceptions, China does accept top talents, that's why China beats US in attracting scientists, US takes in more drug addicts and bums, this is why you see a lot of them in US streets.

There certainly is a difference.

About 3000 US citizens a year renounce their citizenship and take on the citizenship of another country somewhere in the world.

Most Americans (including myself) see this as a tragedy.

Every year about 25,000+ Chinese citizens renounce their citizenship and take the oath of citizenship of the United States. In the last two decades the total has been over 600,000.

You are not bothered about this. In fact you don't see this as a fundamental problem at all. You think great research papers somehow offsets this. :cuckoo:

US is an immigration country, you are also an immigrant, China, like all east Asian countries , is not an immigration country. Chinese immigrated to many countries, not only US. A decade ago, China was very poor, people go where money and opportunities lies, many Chinese move to western countries, it's true, but now tables had been turned, Many talents come to China for money, more opportunities and personal development, this is also true, but China has very strict laws on foreigners, especially at this moment, couples of my American and Canadian friends were deported from China in recently couples of months, they all lived in China for over 5 years already.

It's actually far far far far more natural for people to renounce their Chinese roots and become US citizens. It's not even close.

23,400 Chinese people renounced their Chinese citizenships in 2020 and became Americans. Last year's numbers aren't available yet.

Chinese Naturalizations
2019: 39,490
2018: 39,600
2017: 37,674
2016: 35,794
2015: 31,241
2014: 30,284
2013: 35,387
2012: 31,868
2011: 32,864
2010: 33,969
2009: 37,130
2008: 40,017
2007: 33,134
2006: 35,387
2005: 31,708
2004: 27,309
2003: 24,014
2002: 32,018

That's around 630,000 people gaining US citizenship in less than 20 years.
This is not a tiny number. It will fill up your 2022 Beijing Olympic National (Nest) stadium almost 8 times.

8 Stadiums of new Chinese-Americans are all chanting "Buh bye Eillen Gu"

Why don't you compare the quality of Chinese and American immigrants? What is the percentage of American immigrants with a doctorate?

Every foreigner naturalized in China must be personally approved by the Chinese Minister of public security. In 2019, only 3672 people were naturalized in China, of which 74% had a doctor's degree or above, and the rest were senior athletes or overseas Chinese with special needs.

The USA imposes a penalty tax of 30% of property on those who give up their U.S. citizenship, and China hardly accepts immigrants. Is it meaningful for you to compare the immigration data of the two countries?

With a population of 1.4 billion, China has exported 0.6 million immigrants in 20 years, accounting for only 0.04% of the total population. Is this rate very high? India's population is similar to that of China. India exports 2.5 million immigrants every year, which is the standard of failed countries.

These people had acquire Chinese nationality in 2019, they gave up 30% of their property for Chinese nationality:

Shut up, clown.

China is a country that refuses immigration. Of course, the net immigration rate will be very high.

You should refer to the immigration rate.

World Bank agrees too. Indian net migration is more negative than Chinese.

US immigration also agrees and says 75% of H-1B visas are given to Indians alone. Only 11% are going to Chinese.

Most naturalized foreign born athletes in this Olympics are mixed blood with some degree of Chinese origin

Hmm interesting facts...let me write this down for future reference when people start claiming the number of Chinese people wanting to stay in the US is declining. The facts don't show that...

All I see is that H-1Bs are absolutely dominated by Indians who take up most of the quota.

Why would Barack Obama's brother give up 30% when he was never a US citizen????? He was Kenyan. Plus he didn't make enough to be subjected to the 30% rule.

Yes, but I don't hear them say the number of people from India wanting a H1B visa is declining. The Chinese claim it all the time even though the facts show otherwise.

My fault, he have not given up his property. But he gave up his American nationality and chose Chinese nationality.
Do you think he has no ability to acquire American nationality?

It looks like he moved to the US after graduating from a Kenyan High School. I guess he could technically claim a dual since one of his parents was American.
