I'm a resident of Ankara and I don't advice you to visit Ankara for sightseeing. We have much better historical cities.

Owkay bro...I really wanted to go to the other historic cities but am planning to spend a good 80% of my time in Turkey in Istanbul. Thought that'll give me time to do a 'quick' trip- ankara looked like a one day affair. Any recommendations dude? Can't cut down on IStanbul (it's personal :D )

In Ankara nothing is historical. Only major sightseeing area is Anıtkabir(Moseleum). Neptune offered better cities.

Deutschland Deutschland über alles, Drang nach Osten. Meine Ehre heisst Treue. Und gibt's noch etwas? Erinnere mich nicht daran.

There are these old villages that the muncipality is renovating, there is the first parliament and Anitkabir is reason enough to visit Ankara once in ones lifetime.

Old villages, you are refering to " Beypazarı " there are better place like safranbolu, kayseri if our indian friend likes ottoman style house architecture.

If you are a Turk, you should definetly visit Anıtkabir and maybe the first parliment.

If I were him i would visit the archealogical sites of Ancient Greeks, Asur, Likian etc....
