A man in Islamabad with his wife and two children on car parked a car in Blue Area in Islamabad.
The person armed with 2 semi-automatic rifles fired shots on a police mobile.

ISLAMABAD: A man armed with an assault rifle opened fire on Jinnah Avenue here on Thursday.

The man in a black Toyota Carolla fired shots into the air. TV footage also showed a woman and two children in the car.

The woman could be seen going back and forth between the vehicle and the police contingent present at the site. The woman told police that the man identified as Sikander was her husband and would only negotiate with a high-ranking police official.

SSP operations, Dr Rizwan walked over to the indivudial and negotiated with him to lay down his weapons.

Police have surrounded the area and traffic has been blocked.
