Thats true.....but the revival of Indian Army Aviation corps is on its way...this year special funds are allocated for air arm for all 3 forces.....and army has a respectable amount, which means we will be inducting those 197 light choppers this year out of which 133 are going to IA....
I always thought our army operates very less choppers specially considering we have one of the largest army in the world and also we don't have good infrastructure along the disputed land.....both these points call for large number of helicopter induction for quick mobilization....
US army operates around 2500 choppers....i am not saying we should go for so many but we should go for 1000, because we need them.... We are practicing war games to show quick mobilization and inducting choppers in large number in our army will ensure this....
