Pakistan Navy will get 4 more F-22Ps

@Penguin , would you please comment on the thread related to Pakistani nuclear sub opened by Imran Khan?

Talk to your collegue, post 117 ;-)
tYPE 54A is a bigger design of f22p in easy words we can , long endurance , more ammunition. Sonar and radar systems are same in f22p according to its range. the only difference is SAM systems. type54A SAM system has greater range. That is why instead of 2 Type 54A Navy has chosen 4 f22p.

PN needs to refine the support of F22s first before manufacturing or maintaining additional platforms. Pakistan Navy currently has French Submarines, US ships, British Type-21s Frigates, Chinese vessels, Thai Missile Boats, Turkish vessels etc. There are already 6-8 different platforms to maintain and a well thought out maintenance approach is needed. More F22s will be a better option before taking on the Type 54 right away.

what really frustrates me is that Pakistan gets the TOT of ships but they never use them. they had the Tot for agosta 90 but only 3 were built. they got the TOT for f22p. they built the last PN aslat in khi, PN should have started work on the bigger version of F22p with VLS, or mk 13, 21 RAM, CMS, sonars, communications, navigations right after their conclusions were positive and satisfactory with PN zulfiqar rather then waiting, and thinking, by now they would have almost built a bigger version. and going through sea trials. now they are waiting and thinking we need new bigger version lets just lease some from china or beg some from US, ediots why not built it ourself, we also have the tot for FAC 500 tons boats with no decent air defence why not start designing, 650 or 750 tons FAC boats with SAMS and better air defence like RIM 116 RAM or AK630M CIWS or Dardo, and anti submarine capabilities better sonars, navigations etc systems a good example would be swedish wisby class which is 640 ton boat or Roussen class. Azmat is not exactly multi role platform as the admiral stated. I dont know what these guys are waiting for abhi soch rahay hian. the wheel moves very slow in pakistan as usual an in 90% cases dont move at all due to rusty situations, not as fast as china.

PN should built this domestically and should have atleast 20 in their inventory.....

But no fficially confirmtion about four more F22p contract....?

For better air defence and to deploy future naval cruise missile,we need bigger ships so cannot ignore Type54A....

We need submarines as they are cheaper, faster, and more efficient. A nuclear powered one is strongly recommended. Frigates take a while to get made, to get delivered and to train navy crew members....

Sir Subs are not all Cheap...maintenance cost, Anachronic Tiles replacement, Rescue Sub, Training costs equal a new Sub over 7 years. Suggest PN becomes Master of managing 3 subs is more than a Kill for us enemies.

4F22P is a great acquisition by Pakistan Navy

This will surely add to proper value of Pakistan Navy

Fantastic news , now only a Submarine deal will be icing on cake

1 Year per frigate development turn around means by 2016 , we will have 8 F22P frigates
and coupled with 1 OHP and 4 other older ships almost 15-16 Ships in inventory

I recall having read in a naval engineering journal that F22P is equipped with a Western-European sonar (will check source).
Also, don't discount the difference of VL versus RL as far as the SAM is concerned.

Phillippines looking to pick up a Meastrale class frigate and a Soldati (simplified Lupo) class frigate from Italy.

Important for PN in several ways:
1. A total of 12 ships in these classes coming available for reuse as they are being retired in the coming years
2. There are other takers so, those who wait long loose out.
3. There are still 4 UK Type 22 batch 3 (fully armed, unlike 'neutered' Mk-13-less ex-USN OHPs) up for grabs, but no apparent PN interest.....

Ref: the Sonars. The Chinese ships use versions of the French Thomson-CSF DUBV hull-mounted sonars. This family of sonars use tech developed in the 1970s and 1980s which were transferred by the French to China.
