Security beefed up in Islamabad as Lal Masjid cleric vows to restart 'Sharia Law' campaign

Have you forgotten the Soviet adventure in Afghanistan and its effects on Pakistan? Or was that just a vacation?

See bhai jaan! You are no different to my family members who have served and those in the military; refuse to answer a straight question! Seems like our Military has some kind of brain washing going on that refuses to allow rational thought.

Why is this such a difficult question? Was there a war like we've got pre-2001? Btw Afghanistan war ended in 1988, so there was no civil war like we've had post 2001.

Sir, the roots of the present civil strife in Pakistan go back to that period in history.

The widespread weaponisation of Pakistan society began in 1980.

And talking about rational thoughts what is rational about ending relations with the west as you previously suggested?

Well actually the us invasion also contributed in spilling of heavy soviet era arms into Pakistan

No Sir. It was the influx of Afghan refugees due to the Soviet invasion that brought AK-47s and heroin to Pakistan. Blaming USA for all three of these issues is incorrect.

and then this bastard will say i am new ameer ul momneen of pakistan hence khalifa e pakistan hahhahhahah

The ''biggest'' question should be asked to people of knowledge and you'll get the answer.

There are many people who claim to have knowledge. Even the Taliban believe they have the most knowledge of Islam. How wrong they are. Shia and Sunni people with knowledge will differ. We will never be able to get over basic questions how are we going to apply our logic for big things?

If you're asking we'll tell you.

Don't worry yourself with consensus we know how to get it.

How? It will be very difficult when the shias sunnis demand different things and when even hanafi, sufi and wahabi can't seem to agree on anything.

If we can implement kafir laws and you question if we can implement Allah laws in the land of the pure. Bhai jaan this is silly talk!

I strongly disagree these are Allahs laws. These are the man made laws of humans and these humans think they are applying Allahs laws.

It is true Taliban did implement Sharia law, however they had a lot of cultural practices especially when it came to womens' education. They forgot the most knowledgeable women in the time of nabi as'salaathu was'salaam were the wives of the nabi as'salaathu was'salaam.

Can you define shariah? What will be its parameters, its rules? I think we have enough Islam in our lives. We have the blasphemy law and witnesses law for rape, even funds for haj while we do not have funds for Hindus yatra which is very unfair in an egalitarian society-I mean if we had an egalitarian society.

We can live in a Sharia law country as it is our country, our laws! People should stop trying this scaremongering of Allah laws.

How do you know Allah wants these laws? What if he doesn't and expects us to conquer hearts and minds with a secular system? After all in a secular society people see the goodwill of us muslims and automatically convert.

IMO, a hybrid system, based on strong points of both secular system and shariah law, would be best for Pakistan. In this manner, proponents of both systems can reach an understanding.

Forget Swat already?

Secular state is the future of Pakistan.

1. Swat's and Afghanistan's laws were more cultural than religious. They forced women to wear veils when Shariah law only requires you to cover your hear; they did not allow women to go to schools, when Islam makes education obligatory, They use stoning as a form of punishment when actually Islam does not allow punishment of stoning; these practices were much common in the region long before Islam had arrived.

2. If you want a ethnic civil war, each clan/ethnicity demanding their own country and more bloodshed/distrust. Then keep praying for a secular state.

Or else what? They'll keep blowing themselves up in markets and mosques?

Thats what most people do if they are ignored and not heard.

Nobody can have enough Islam in their lives.
