Osama Dead. Obama Confirms.

It is reality , you accept it or not , ISI proved their capability in USSR defeat but you know that Bush himself admit CIA failure in Iraq .

next you are gonna say that Pakistan invented the Stinger missile which was supplied to the Afghans!!:cheesy:

Again.. beating round the bush.. the burden of "proof" is not on us.. the burden of proof that they killed Osama lies on US and there are many discripencies in their "story".. and NO it is not "best" to play down such an event.. this will play havoc with the future of Pakistan.. and being Pakistani.. i will NEVER allow that.. What are they waiting for?? "doctoring" the evidence? generating proofs? bring out the video of the operation they made.. They were WATCHING right??

Burden of proof? What burden?

They are not being tried in the court of law, nor do they have any interest in showing anyone any pics or proofs. Who are you and I to solicit any proofs? If there is anyone that they are liable to show the proof to, then it is the ISI and the PA. Both of them have quietly accepted the statements of the US as true.

About Al Qaeda targeting Pakistan - It is best to play it down as much as one can, in the interest of Pakistan. By publicizing it more and more you will only invite more attacks by the Al Qaeda. Haven't you heard, the Taliban has already declared Pakistan the number one enemy, even before the US?

How? Do you think that it was Zardari or Gilani who were ensuring the safe keeping of the guest of honor next to PMA? Or is he exposing the weakness of Zardari and Gilani in this intelligence failure by ISI? Or the fact that the US Seals got in and got out with the baggage even when the jets were still being scrambled? Or is he exposing Zardari and Gilani to be getting the largest share of the national budget and yet not having the slightest clue about the what is happening in the airspace over the cradle of the Pakistani army?

Or most importantly, is he exposing Zardari and Gilani to have been playing good taliban and bad taliban over the last years while over 30,000 pakistanis died in various acts of jannat seeking self annihilation?

Or is he exposing Zardari and Gilani to show that how in their quest and fixation over India and in the course of it, destroying Afganistan, they chose the worst kind of foreign policy and ended up having the ladens as the guests over dinner?

Kayani surely is a very smart guy, he could run for president and CEO (la musharraf) soon I am sure. Afterall he has been the single most successful individual in exposing Pakistan in its history!

first of all this was never an intelligence failure, as OBL wasnt there....its just a drama, the cat will be out of bag soon.
suppose it was an intelligence failure, so what, it happens all over the world, e.g. US itself admitted that attack on iraq for WMD was intelligence failure, mumbai attackers used the same seashore where exercises were ongoing....
in this particular case, whom you call intelligence failure, US is the only country claiming that OBL has been killed, if he has been killed then where is the body? if he has been killed then why not burried? it is nothing but to defame pakistan and this taken new turn after R. davis.
Simply look at the timings, CIA faces retaliation in Pak, then wikileaks comes out instantly declaring ISI in terrorist list organization. when this strategy goes in vain, they came with the OBL's drama.

Now, coming to kayani's strategy, you are aware that image of Pak Army was deteriorated by these politicians during mush era, so kayani is playing safe and his last statement few days back is very important that "they are aware of everything".

US newspapers, post Iraq war, apologized for providing false information on the dictation of CIA...

i cant make goats use the "brain" either..

Just my 2 cents too mate..

BBC is a british channel and it has no reason to fudge the image date and if you cared to go through the original BBC article it never mentions this discrepancy between the date of the ISI official's claim and the Sat image.. it was spotted by a "retired Major" on twitter.

sorry but it seems that my reply "has got your goat".

Dont give a counter-intuitive argument about the date of the image. No one labels a photo with a "posting" date and any noob with an SLR will tell you that a photo is labeled with its taken date by default.

The compound was constructed in 2005, so the discussion is moot.

And please go and reread my post again, i never said that ISI carried out 9/11, i said it had relations with Bin-Laden when 9/11 happened (did it know before hand ? or did it turn a Nelson's eye to the 9/11 Op of Bin Laden ? etc are all questions which need to be answered. CIA didn't have any relationship to Bin Laden when 9/11 happened. So your argument is invalid.

Wishful thinking on your part. Which won't stop the Indian media from speculating, of course.

Bin Laden given haven by militants linked to Pakistani security forces (Hizbul Mujahedeen)

As suspicions grow about how Osama bin Laden spent years living next door to Pakistan’s military, there are indications emerging that the terrorist mastermind was sheltered by one of the militant groups that has enjoyed tolerance, if not support, from Pakistani security services.

A police officer familiar with Mr. bin Laden’s compound in the scenic town of Abbottabad said the location was used by Hizbul Mujahedeen, one of the biggest militant outfits in the disputed territory of Kashmir. Like other groups fighting Indian troops in the borderlands, HM’s radical membership has never been rounded up by Pakistani forces and some analysts say Islamabad covertly supports the group.

Any link to HM would deepen Pakistan’s embarrassment over Mr. bin Laden’s death. Pakistan has denied any collusion with terrorists, saying that its leading intelligence service had been sharing information with U.S. counterparts since 2009 about the compound where Mr. bin Laden was found.

Still, in the wake of the raid, Islamabad scrambled to ensure that precise ownership of the compound would not become public knowledge.

“The place belonged to Hizbul Mujahedeen,” the police officer said. “But the authorities have asked us not to share any information about the exact ownership.”

Land-registry officials in Abbottabad, known in the local language as patwaris, were summoned to a meeting on Tuesday and urged to keep quiet.

“The patwaris are meeting right now,” a local official said. “They are being instructed not to say anything about the land-ownership issue.”

American officials have described the owners as “brothers,” and neighbours recalled seeing a pair of men, possibly ethnic Pashtuns from the rugged western frontier, who largely kept to themselves.

Their names were reported in local media as Bara Khan and Chota Khan, or Arshad Pathan and Chota Pathan. However, “Bara” and “Chota” are common vernacular for “older,” and “younger,” making the names almost meaningless.

A Pakistani official said the mystery surrounding the two men has deepened with the discovery that their national identity cards were faked.

Demands grew louder on Tuesday for an investigation that would determine what support Mr. bin Laden received inside Pakistan.

“If I were a prosecutor at the United States Department of Justice … I would be tempted to call a grand jury,” wrote Steve Coll, a Pulitzer-winning biographer of Mr. bin Laden. “Who owned the land on which the house was constructed?”

If the ownership were traced to HM, it would mark an unusual example of co-operation between the militant group and its more extreme cousin, al-Qaeda. HM has maintained a narrow focus on removing Indian forces from Kashmir, while Al-Qaeda pursues global ambitions.

“This is the first time I’ve heard of links between Hizbul Mujahedeen and Osama, but its members would probably admire him,” said Kamran Bokhari of Stratfor international analysts.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office issued its first detailed statement about the raid on Tuesday afternoon, making oblique reference to the suspicions raised by the fact that Mr. bin Laden apparently lived near a prominent military school, in a garrison town dominated by security forces.

“There has been a lot of discussion about the nature of the targeted compound, particularly its high walls and its vicinity to the areas housing Pakistan Army elements,” the government said. “It needs to be appreciated that many houses occupied by the affectees of operations in [tribal areas] have high boundary walls, in line with their culture of privacy and security.”

The idea that Mr. bin Laden’s presence went unnoticed did not sit well with Pakistan’s media, however. Dawn, a leading newspaper, pointed out that the head of the country’s military, General Ashfaq Kayani, had visited the nearby Kakul Military Academy on April 23 and bragged that his forces had broken the “terrorist backbone” in the country.

“Was the general completely unaware that the most wanted man lived but a short distance away?” the newspaper asked, in a sharply worded front-page analysis.

Another major newspaper, The Nation, expressed similar sentiments in an unsigned report on the front page: “The presence of the world’s most wanted terrorist in such a strategically sensitive city is beyond the understanding of a sane man.”

That is the real mystery, the way the operation has gone down means that someone from within the Pak establishment has helped the US in killing Osama.

Now everyone has gone quiet and we might find out later as to what actually happened.

LOL, read Dawn. They are comortable and sound at GHQ redrafting security policies for Pakistan with the Corps commanders. Good use of their time considering what Bashir is undergoing. :)

@ Bang Galore

I have read that the JI/JUI had a hand in getting this location for militants because of their connections.

You know once a terrorist, always a terrorist.

All these people should be eradicated and their ideology buried in the sea just like their 'leader' Osama bin Bedouin.

After a few head shots of course.

Probably looking at what which plot of land should they all distribute amongst themselves.

These people are not very serous or worthy of being in a position of power.

Now they will also arrest the doodhwala, and the tailor and the car mechanic and the dukanwalas and the children who were playing around the area and the civilian padosis living in 20 kilometer radius. But in no way will they arrest the ISI handlers who were running the show with the guest of honor.

Off course they will.....as they need to interrogate and pin the baloon inflated by US.
