What an irony, that the your intelligence agency, i.e ISI , which you consider the best in the world, as proved in the posts above, was not able to even gather little intelligence regarding OBL's whereabouts??

Strange!!!

They've been working on him for last several months, dumbass.

It's starting to sink in now...the demos in front of the White House by college students especially notable. They were kids when the Twin Towers were attacked. Do they really remember the world before that? Did they always feel the weight on their shoulders?

Is there a reason why Pakistani forces didn't conduct the operation after the ISI intelligence? May be they dont want the after effects of this killing (in terms of suicide bombing) to hurt them...

It was conducted by them. Last night one was not about killing him. he was killed one week back and his dead body was here for retrieving it operation was conducted.

The only important thing here is that his body was placed at that place and above all President Obama is getting credit.

The briefing at white house a while back : the participants were briefed that US conducted the operation without letting Pakistan know. White house is saying very few in US knew about the operation.

A very complex and dangerous situation for Pakistan. if we accept our forces conducted the operation then we will face wide spread al-qaeda attacks and if we we keep quiet then the world is going to say Pakistan/ISI was unaware of the operation and whereabouts of OBL

How did the heli get shot down?

Oh and I'm loving how the Indians think pakistan gets no credit lol

What's strange about it?

I'm pretty sure he wasn't hanging about in this mansion for the last 10 years.

It's most likely that he was moving around, possibly in other countries. When he came to Pakistan, he got caught, suggesting the Pakistani authorities did not play any duplicitous game as accusations have flung in the past.

I seriously doubt US intelligence were behind the find, though some will try and spin it that way. ISI have more eyes on the ground in Pakistan.

Well no it's not. It's 150 KM. Secondly, it's in more remote regions. Mountainous/hilly terrain.

You have more probability of being wrong than has google earth.

There are chances to a pretty strong hit back by AQ and Taliban.. USA issues a world wide travel advisory..

Great job USA! but does Pakistan still rejects his existence in Pakistan?

Lets be prepared for what is coming next!

Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has been killed by a team of U.S. operatives earlier today after a firefight at a house where he had been hiding, President Barack Obama said.

“On nights like this one we can say to those families who have lost loved ones to al Qaeda’s terror: Justice has been done,” Obama said in a late-night televised address from the White House.

Obama delivered the news to the nation almost 10 years after the Sept. 11 attacks that bin Laden orchestrated. Bin Laden was killed, along with other members of his family in a mansion outside Islamabad, an official said. Almost 3,000 people were killed on Sept. 11, most at the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Virginia just outside of Washington.

The administration briefed congressional officials ahead of the president’s address.

Obama and his predecessor, former President George W. Bush, made capturing Bin Laden a key national security priority. Obama has called the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan the “epicenter of violent extremism,” where he said al-Qaeda leader bin Laden was hiding.

Obama said bin Laden was killed today by U.S. assets during a “firefight” outside of Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. The president said he authorized an attack on bin Laden’s compound after he determined last week there was enough intelligence to take action.
‘Painstaking’ Work

Bin Laden’s killing came after years of “painstaking” work by the U.S. intelligence community, Obama said.

Obama said that shortly after taking office in 2009, he directed Central Intelligence Agency Director Leon Panetta to make the killing or capture of bin Laden the “top priority” in the war against al-Qaeda. In August, Obama was briefed on a possible lead to bin Laden, he said.

“Tonight we are once again reminded that America can do whatever we set our mind to,” Obama said. “That is the story of our history.”

The news brought a cheering, chanting crowd outside the White House fence before Obama was set to appear on television.

Obama warned that the fight against terrorism is not ended with the death of bin Laden.

“There’s no doubt that al Qaeda will continue to pursue attacks against us,” he said.

Will that idiot Fauj and her idiot leadership ever get anything right? They are forever on some other planet and this should be of great concern for thinking Pakistanis

Yes, we will shortly hear about the great brave and honorable contribution of the Fauj and her agencies (ISI) in this "effort" - Once again, the fauj will have put Pakistan in the lab of the US

I think we should not spread rumors.

But India should tighten its security since people supporting Osama bin laden may blew themselves and hurt people and tourist (particularly US). Moreover, Abbotabad is just 30-40 Km from Indian Border. Need for tightening security all over India.

But he was living in a posh area where there are mansions of PA folks as well

he's known to have moved from place to place throughout the past 10 years or so

in fact, works out better this way.....he slipped right into our hands despite all the paranoia and arrangements in place to "protect" him
